I absolutely love doodles like that!
If I could only... *sigh* :frown5:

I picked a gloomy picture of somewhere's woods and tried to give it a more mystic aspect. The B.C. Rich Warlock ain't mine either, whereas my logo carvings on it, flames, and embers are :)
http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...-in-mirkwo.jpg
When the embers fell
The once damp went sere
By a tune severe
From a pyre's spell.
Then the mirk crossed swords
With a Warlock's flame,
And the six-string dame
Loudly scorched the hordes.
Alas, the shames were tall!
Till a pick struck fears
In the deaf's dead ears...
And their pride shrank small.
The guitars are clipart I got during a virtual quest, which from top to bottom are a Jackson King V, a B.C. Rich Warlock, and a Dean VMNT Double Neck. The rest was done by Monsieur Maximilien (that would be me in French :p)

'Tis the day of choice
For the mute to choose:
Be it mutely voiced,
Be it soundly loose.
The three in lament
From the sphere below.
All around lays bent
But one straight to go.
Twenty-four and tempest
From the sphere below.
Lo! They glide unplugged,
And withal they glow!
They all three, they aimed
For a void unraveled.
Three conjoined exclaimed,
One exclaim has traveled.
Hark their wistful throe!
Lo! The plectrums shredding
One last tune bestowed!
Gosh! I have not been here for some days and have missed you all. Good to be back and find so many wonderful works. :hurray:
@ Monsieur Maximilien - The flaming guitars look magical. The dark woody background is mysterious, as if some unseen power is lurking in the shadows and is kept away by the magical embers and flames. And your poems are as fascinating as your art work mon ami.
@ Varenne - I like the yellow submarine but the waves really won my heart. How nicely textured!
@ MM - Which monsters inhabit that wondrous monster planet of yours? I'd like to see some vividly colored monsters too. And the green rings seem to whirl on an ocean floor. But the palm island is my favorite. Cool!
Thank you all for sharing your beautiful works. :cheers2:
I agree with Alien Girl Max - and thankyou both! :) Funny about choosing guitars Max - I was looking at some 3D models of them on Friday (couldn't find what I was looking for though - your pictures are far beyond than what I was considering so it's all good).
I've done quite a few pikkies, but I'm too scared to upload anything because my internet's been totally flaky this past week: spent far more time getting 'can't connect' pages than things I want and need to see. (My phone's doing exactly the same thing so it's a network fault. Just posting this might going to take half an hour so... :( )

That interpretation is quite the meaning I had intended to convey in the first place... I think you've been reading monsieur's mind :p merci, ma chérie :)

Finding guitar pix with some depth has proved to be quite a feat, since most pix online are two-dimensional. However, after extensive searches I have found a few interesting pix, like the ones I used in the above posted pieces. My editions look similar to the originals I found, though oftentimes I have to kill backgrounds and change colors to suit my needs, and of course turning them into transparent PNGs allows for many more interesting creations. If you want I can pack and send them to you if you think they can be of some use to your purposes. I've also found a couple of TAMA Bubinga drum kits in transparent PNG, harpsichords, and cellos I'm planning to work on as soon as the tight schedule looses some of its weight. By the way, I got better results by googling specific models, like the ones I mentioned above ;)
I've seen that behavior in wireless services like the ones most of my classmates have. They often complain about being unable to keep a steady connection. I have a wired broadband that comes through my telephone line and although it's not very fast, it's stable almost always. I think wireless is much affected by climate conditions and other kinds of interference, though that's hereabouts, as I ignore how things operate up there. Anyway, on Friday I got my shoulder clapped by a US teacher who'll be staying with us for a while, and now I feel really international :p :D
*facepalm* I did it again....XD I disappeared.
Thank you Maxey! :D I'm working on coloring it. :) And your guitars look awesome. You really put a spark to your work! And your poem was quite enjoyed by yours truly. :)
Thanks Mystyr! Your work is always beautiful!

I'll be waiting! :)
:p Thank you Beau http://smiles.kolobok.us/personal/hi.gif
Lighting and shading give a certain mysterious touch. Good job! :thumbs_up
There seems to be some telepathic communication going on. :p That's what we call here "dil se dil ko raah hoti hai", which means "there is a connection between kindred hearts". :grouphug:
Glad to hear it mon cher. You deserve it. :thumbs_up
Thank you both :)
lovely max I like the first Guitar image a lot I could see it as a big band album cover :) You are so very talented
It must be so :) Here we say "tenemos piel," which roughly means something like "our skins are not allergic to each other" ... yeah, at times we may say peculiar things in the hereabouts :sosp: :p
Thank you!
Thank you lovely Stephy. I was actually having a similar image in mind when I did it. Probably both our minds are kinda connected too :)
And you too.

It's an okay idea and execution Max, but the floor tiles are a bit, ya know, laundry floorish. Also the right and bottom head distortions are a little extreme. Otherwise cool :)
I'm not sure about 'better' Kyriakos - just as good really :). Have you tried a futuristic or fantasy set? (just curious)
3D doodle in ZBrush I made yesterday, though the purpose was about reflections it seems to look like an unearthed ancient relic to me:

I think that now it is a lot better :)

You may recall in the past when I inquired about the possibilty of generating other views of your architecture. This is what I had in mind. I think views such as this^ are more dynamic and allow us to appreciate the details.
Thank you all :)
Here is a darker-themed one:

Thank you, alien! :D
Mystyry and Max, I love your new works. I don't know how you guys manage to make things look so 3D. Brilliant!
Kyriakos, I am loving the larger images! The small ones are great too, but sometimes it's cool too see and focus on one large iconic structure. Nice work.
I just finished this commission for a partially dissected dragon fetus in a jar. I'm pleased with the look of it.
Here it is out of the jar:

Varenne,
I’m recalling the jitters I had when first seeing Alien or perhaps the lab scene from Independence Day with the aliens suspended in the transparent containers. My personal choice for the best of the lot I’ve seen thus far, in combination with the jar. The effect you created with the mason jar and air bubbles creates the appearance that the dragon is truly suspended in formaldehyde or some other preservative. I’m curious; are the bubbles in the glass or did you pour acrylic into the jar?
It would make a great prop for practical joke in a preserver’s cupboard. Looks like you’re having fun and getting paid for it.
Btw- Looks like you are knocking off a bottle of wine there.
Keep up the creativity.
.
Thank you very much, Gilliatt! This is the first time I've attempted this sort of project. I really appreciate your feedback. The bubbly substance is a super clear paraffin (wax). I had to let it set in stages while holding the dragon in place. Not burning myself was tricky!
You're right about the wine. Merlot. I like to have a celebratory glass upon completion of a sculpture. :D
If I had more time, I would make a bunch of these to use in pranks. That's a fantastic idea. It's too bad X Files stopped running. I would beg a steady job from them.
That's brilliant Varenne - the bubbles, as noted, really add to the effect, as well as the green-red alien eyes.
You needn't worry about X Files, though: with work like this you could easily set yourself up as an SFX artist and let the Hollywood studios come to you (that's how most of them do it these days: create effect - will find a use)
Happy Merlot! :)
Aw. Thank you, Mystyry! That's such a nice thing to say. Working on movies and tv shows is exactly what I want to be doing. It's tough to market myself because I'm somewhat shy, but hopefully someday I'll get the chance to show my work to people who can utilize it for projects like that. I think if I'm persistent it will pay off eventually. If not, I don't mind. I'm enjoying being an artist just for the sake of it. Thanks again for your sweet words and encouragement. :)
Varenne,
Incredible Alien- very lifelike!
I would love one to bring to the doctors office as a gag. Have it clutched in the busy waiting room, with alot of worried cell phone calls ("yes, he's still moving - looks unhappy. Sure, jar is fine...)
Tony
Yes, excellent dragon sculpture :)
Thanks, Tony and K!
Mystyry, that's excellent! I like how dark it is.
Thakyou Beau :)
Thankyou Varenne :)
I was so happy with the way the texture mapped the foreground that I didn't notice that it went a lil sloppy on the distant mountain. I'll fix it up in photoshop later.
Here's some 'moeba things:

A few months after the fact, but I thought I'd share the "making of Ben and Franklin's Thanksgiving 2011" as in doodles, developmental sketches and eventual layout on watercolor paper.

Very interesting Gilliatt!
The other day I was reading a librarian's lament that in the digital age there are less first and second drafts in manuscript because now everyone rewrites on the fly.
There's a novel called Stephen Hero floating about which Joyce told Nora to burn so he could rewrite it as Portrait. Whether deciding not to was the right thing or wrong, it does give a sort of insight into his process for anyone interested.
It made me realise that this is also true of digital art which comes out in its final form, with corrections being made before the final render - there's limited history of the various reconsiderations and transformations, which usually vanish upon exiting the program unless someone is creating something specifically for a tutorial or advertising demonstration.
It's great that you kept the sketches - something I do just in case - but alas that there are too few bits and alternate preliminaries remaining (usually in a difficult to reach folder I've neglected to delete). Maybe I should start zipping them onto a usb stick.
To all the artists and their commendable works
