did i mention i registered for fall classes last week? if not, i did :D, and would you guys help me if i don't understand what the heck plato and aristotle meant when the time comes? (intellectual heritage is a required, non-transferable course. but it sounds like fun. :))
amuse, armed with my knowledge of the ancient Greeks, you'd flunk for sure.
Mmmm, peaches are good here this year!
i haven't update my CV for the scholarship application requirement.
stampede is over now....boo hoo
what a hoot that was. i have never seen anything quite like it in my life. i have a picture of lineups of people hoarding around outside the gates, with the city skyline right behind them. beautiful. and i never saw so many belt buckles, cowboy hats, drunks, lights and tiny doughnuts in one place in my life.
for ten days the whole city changes focus. over 1.2 million people attended this outdoor event. holy smoley!
oh, and guys and girls, i really need some sort of clever thingy to go beneath my name. i think i've finally posted enough to put up some sort of description. its just that after 130 posts i should be slightly more than "registered user", but good grief, is my mind ever blank.....any suggestions?
(i could just put "not really" under there...for a giggle)
How about "Army Wife"? :p Then you could gifworks your original pic and crop off the words, and you wouldn't have to shrink the actual pic as much. Or you could just crop it to 100 pixels long the way it is, and just cut off the bottom of her legs.
oh! i guess i didnt mention, i dont care if the text at the bottom is cut off (we arent actually married anyway!) so that's a great plan. so now i have to figure out gifworks
Oh! :D Hehe. It's really easy. And two other great sites:
http://www.photobucket.com/ and http://www.tinypic.com/
Online image storage, so you can post pics instead of attachments. Tinypic is great for things like the puffin heads and your avatar, cause you don't have to save them in an online album; you can save the address if you want, or never see it again. Only it's not good for personal pics, because if it happens to be posted on a page that gets a lot of hits, they put the pic on a list of "top viewed pics" on their site. I forgot to tell you about them; I just found them recently.
Yeah I need a name besides registered user also. I'm toying with "Ambivalent" but I dunno.
oooh. thanks Em. good call. here is one that i just uploaded on the tiny pic one. just because i can!

EDIT: holy! thats HUGE!!! sorry
LOL! :D Awwww.
You better hope he doesn't mind having his picture posted on the internet. Like what you've done with your avatar VBM, the whole view is much better.
Oh, me too, VB! You've joined me at the altar of gifworks, then? :D
(err...I opened the page and had to say 'whats that????'...then i realised it was a pic... ;) nice to see ya :))
My random thought: while watching the news I keep wondering what the journalist who's reading the news is thinking... I'd die to know what they're actually thinking when they announce things in such a neutral, 'imposed' (???random word) tone... when they tell that a woman has been "horribly killed and made into pieces by her son" with almost the same voice they use to announce the adverts... They have something in mind, and they dont show it... Or when they mess a word and have to repeat it twice before getting it, or when they cough and apologise, or when there are technical problems and they'd probably like to scream but they have to smile and be sorry... I want to read their minds!!!!!! Should we open a thread about this? :D
