I thought Bob Hoskins managed well. If I remember correctly the script is written by Luc Besson, perhaps not famous for indepth characters. But I usually like his movies non the less.
On the subject of violence for fun - I watched Kung Fu Hustle last night. It was OK. Not the best fighting movie I´ve seen, but I enjoyed it non the less. All the small hints at other movies half hidden in fighting choreography amused me. The best fighting movie this year probably has to be Ong Bak. The young man in that movie outstunts Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
My younger brother and I watched Ladykillers earlier this evening. I felt a little unsure about the plot when reading about it, but succumbed due to severe boredom.
What I read deceived me, entirely, as I found the film an incredibly connived storyline that got even better as the movie unfolded. I cannot describe much of the plot, without spoiling parts of the conclusion, for those who have not seen it, but I recommend it to anyone.
My rating: 9/10. :)
Requiem For A Dream.
95/100
Cried for two days..
Star wars III Revenge of the Sith (for the 2nd time). I give it 97/100. Kind of lacking in dialogue, but thats it. I'm also a huge star wars fan so this is a totally biased rating. :P
Leia's adoptive father, Bail Organa, besides being a senator for the Republic, was the viceroy of Alderaan, hence Leia's title. And when she talks about their mother, she might be referring to her adoptive one. Or not. The story is full of holes and contradictions, and most of them are much more graver than this one.Quote:

The new trilogy is pretty good, but 1 gets boring at times. (I love Qui-Gonn Jin still.)
That's curious Bong. He was a character I disliked, it didn't seem to have much entity as a jedi to me (stuff like "I'm not here to free slaves", and getting wiped too early for the fame he was supposed to have in the story didn't convince me much, so to speak). SPOILER AHEAD Besides, didn't you find it odd that he was the one to discover the path to immortality?
In all truthfulness no, I'm not suprised that Qui-Gonn found the path to immortality.Yeah he was cut out of the series, but being the fanboy that I am I read some books on Qui-Gonn and Obi Wan before Episode 1. I just think that he's a more "down to Earth" Jedi. He reminds me more of myself at times then any of the other Jedi do.
From what I gathered, all the ones who attained immortality (i.e. became ghosts), that would be Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Vader, died willingly, but Qui-Gon was struck dead (even if he hung on for a couple of words), he wasn't ready to die. That's what surprised me. Maybe they'll add more on this in the upcoming series (BTW, is that the one called Empire? I saw some adds on the NBA finals, and the logo looked like SW related, but it could be another different thing).
What books on Qui-Gon did you read Bong? Novelisations of the first movie? Another SW novel that has him as a character in another period of time? I'd like to hear more.
The last movies I'v seen are "Sin City" and "Kingdom of Heaven". Both are very good films. I'll give the 1st 95/100 and the second 97/100. The themes dealt with in both of them are very intresting. They are both a representation of human interacions in one way or another.
A series that takes place before Episode one by give or take 10 years at most shows Obi Wan's background from when he was about 13 (having to leave the temple because no Jedi would take him as an aprentice) to Qui-Gonn taking him to adventures and stuff like that. The series is called Jedi Apprentice and the books are quick reads (like around 2 books a day).
Even though Yoda, Obi Wan and Vader died willingly it doesn't mean that the club couldn't have Qui-Gonn. He seemed like he would have a large part in the series and if he died the only way was through becoming a ghost or immortal or something like that.
i see it 4 times in 2 days,the best film i ve ever seen.Quote:

Just saw Batman Begins last night, and it totally blew me away. I loved it. Only complaint I have is that the fights were shot a little too tight overall, but sometimes it really worked. 9/10
It's a great new start for a franchise that was driven into the ground, and I look forward to the sequels.
