I am searching for an answer concerning Daniel DeFoe's Robinson Crusoe.
There is an island 400 miles off the coast of Chile that is advertised
as the place where Alejandro Selkirk was stranded. This is said to be
Robinson Crusoe's Island. But, Robinson Crusoe was stranded off the
coast of Venzuela. Why is this never noted? Has no one read Robinson
Crusoe?
Hello everybody,
I am Bessie . It's good that we are getting so numerous new forum associates who part with us their treasured aspects. There should be a point to introduce yourself.
Hello, I'm a 14 year old from Manchester who usually says I'll do my homework, when, in fact I'm reading George Orwell's 1984 or reading I Capture the Castle. From this website I'm hoping to learn about new, books that I haven't read to death yet and learn other peoples opinions on those I have. I'm a huge indie-rock music lover and English Literature/Language and Art being my strong points.
:hat: oh by the way I love Dr. Suess
HI, I'm a fourteen year old girl from Manchester that spends a lot of my time reflecting her dreams and whims. You would most likely find me reading George Orwell's 1984 and I Capture the Castle. I am a huge indie music lover as well as 'budding' artist. From this website I am hoping to find out about books I haven't read to death and hear other thoughts of those books that I have.
:hat: oh and by the way, I love Dr Suess.
Welcom, everyone!
I'm sorry I just copy/pasted this, but I'm not quite sure where I should post this. So here goes.
My name's Elske, I'm from Holland, though I'll be moving to the UK in two months. I'm an English student and I love the written art in all sorts and shapes.
I've just finished reading One Day by David Nicholls and I loved it. I tend to think about novels for ages after having read them and so I decided to sign up here so I can discuss my love for novels instead of bottling it up.
I hope I'll have a good time here!
Hello, my name is Chris, I am an avid reader and lover of critical approaches to literary texts. I have a deep interest in the Victorian Era and an exempla for the contradictory elements of Victorian life from Rapid progress and Nostalgia to political freedom and social constraint. I can't say I have a favorite piece of Literature, but if I had to give a definitive answer it would probably be Hamlet. I also like Virginia Woolf, who is my favorite writer, other stuff in Literature would be World Anglophone, African Diaspora, 20th century drama and Romanticism. I am working on a set of short-stories too. I am glad to be here.
