Hi, new here. I'm a twenty-three year British undergraduate studying English&Irish Literature at the University of Liverpool, hoping eventually to accede to a life in academia. In my spare time I play competitive (semi-professional) rugby, I played three professional seasons in Portugal before starting my degree. I sporadically write poetry and am currently seeking publication. My particular literary interests are early-to-mid-20thCentury Irish fiction, American Gothic and Absurdist Dystopian. My main poetic influences are Dylan Thomas and Ted Hughes, with a healthy dose of Burroughs thrown in.

Salutations everyone, my name is John Adams (no relation to the founding father...I assume at least). I've been writing all my life and am just now starting to take it as a serious means of existence in this world, in more ways than one. I hope to get feedback and give helpful commentary as well, talking to fellow writers can spur helpful discussion and improvement.

So I came here to write erotic short stories, why, because i'm an impulsive teenager who likes to write and is also going through a very stereotypical time in his life. Hope I have fun here, even if my work has a small audience.

I feel like I've discovered gold by coming across this site. I love to read and usually have several books on order at the library to pick up. However, nothing I've read in awhile has been as enjoyable as the book by Harriet Beecher Stowe "The Pink and White Tyranny".

If anyone in the forum has read this wonderful book, I would very much enjoy getting to discuss it.

Whoa this is interesting for the past 5 years there have been thousands of posts and they're still existent until now. :D I'm Irin, and I'm from Indonesia but I got a scholarship to Singapore so I've been here for the past 3.5 years. I really love reading, writing, art, and watching movies. I'm a complete movie junkie and I read a lot of books that people usually don't read. :P Hope to know you guys better ^^v

Her beauty has stolen the heart gentlemen, even when ladies pass by, they commend, how beautiful is her face, and how gorgeous is her look. Her arm and hands are splendidly slender, like the robots of Silicon Valley. Her eyes are so beautiful, commanding men to come, making handsome men to stumble, with extremely beautiful double eye lids. Her body is so flexible like a bamboo, girls are dreaming, this is how I want to be. Her nail polished in brown sugar and the tail end like Swiss cream. Her lips like a gummy bear of the candy shop, her tongue like a gentle river that is not flowing. Never have I seen a beauty like this before in my entire life. Your graceful ear like a golden pendant of Milan, Italy, You are a real beauty, attractive in nature and complete in beauty. Your outstanding shape I desire, your hips I admire, her twin breasts are moderate, perfect in size like big orange of Florida, looking peacefully, laying joyfully on her chest, soft like jelly. Hi,

My name is Danica. I am 19years old and have just recently re-started my love for all books classic! You can even say I love it better than the sci-fi books that my little sister is so deeply in love with. She's always keen to buy books about vampires, werewolves but I tend to stick to the old classics.

I am currently just starting i'm ashamed to say though. My collection of Penguin classics, despite them not being the original books, are quite interesting at very least. I love each and every one of them and you can always find me at the book shops buying every single one I could find. Long story short, I want to own my own books so I can read them over and over and over again without having to worry about return dates.

Anyways, I was born in Samoa but now currently living in Canberra, Australia. I love reading but have never had the time to actually just pick up a book and just enjoy it but is very grateful for the past few months of serenity in my life. Not only that, I am in love with music. As back on the home islands we grow up surrounded by music, I so too am growing up with music in my blood. If I am not busy with what life has to throw at me, I'm either reading or just jamming on my acoustic with the family and just enjoying the day. I love to write, just about anything that come to my mind if I have a piece of paper or am on the laptop I just write down anything and everything.

And for the finale, I just had come across this site after reading Thomas More's Utopia and trying to find a place to talk about it on Google! I saw this link so thought might as well and as it has turned out, it has become my favorite visited place today (:

Im looking for a fantasy novel I read years ago...but cannot recall the title. It had an alternate fantasy world that the hero (young man) accessed via a seemly empty house with a guardian - a dancer who grew emensely fat and then was reborn but couldnt escape. she had done some something to end up with such a fate. the book had all sorts of elements - 3 witches who taught him his powers - he is some kind of master magician (Sidhe?) and there are quests in this other world- eventually the magical inhabitants start to cross over into our world. I now have lots of odd recollections...he had red hair and discovered he couldnt eat meat once he took on his powers! I apologise for this very scatter brained description. if any one can recall such a book I would be THRILLED!
