You guys are quite naughty librarians Night...
I had paypal for a short period cos I needed it be paid for a job I did for an Australian company  But I closed my account, it freaks me out to think that my money is on the internet
Yeah exactly. I had never heard the word 'debit card' before coming here though, at first I wasn't sure what it was all about...
I use cash most of the time, I find it weird to pay small amounts with a card, in italy we don't do it that much yet...here you see people at the supermarket paying less than one pound with a card, I find it funny.
On another topic, yesterday I had a very girly night with my friends.
Hmm chocolate....
What did you do on your girly night koa?
I'm tired, who has any coffee?
Before Kathy can say licketty-split, the aroma of fresh Guatamalan Especiale floats through the air.
Is it good?
I'll say! Can't wait for a mug of that stuff.
And since Kathy is member of the week, I have some wonderful chocolate to share with everyone... it is huge slabs of Toblerone, behold my dear friends:

Note that it is a magic chunk of chocolate, whenever someone breaks off a slab, more is produced! And you cannot gain weight with this wonderful stuff, so dig in everyone! :)
Such wonderful magic, thanks kiz.
am abit down today... Had to give out my first ever written warning today:( ... then i found out my lovely chinese neighbours are moving tomorrow!:( They said that the only thing about this part of dublin they will miss is my family. Isnt that such a sweet thing to say! Am really going to miss those homemade mice pies they send in a christmas... not to mention the chinese calanders!
That's too bad, Niamh. It stinks to lose nice neighbors. I have lost a great neighbor before, she was one of my closest friends.
Awww, that is sad, Niamh, sorry to hear this news... :(
You take care now, 'kay?
 OopS! That was supposed to be mince pies! I'm such an amadhain sometimes!
Thanks guys!
I thought you might have meant mince, Niamh, but then I thought maybe mice pies were actually some sort of delicacy in Ireland. :p
 yes traditionally it is served on a bed of blood pudding!
(unlike mice pies which dont exist, black and white blood pudding does.)
Damn i've made myself hungry for white pudding on toast with a poached egg.......
I had the white pudding in a mixed grill. Rather, I had a weensy bite of it, and I completely ignored the blood pudding.
Sorry, Niamh, I think it is partly a culture thing. In the States, the term pudding is exclusively used for specific type of sweet dessert.
This is different from what you describe as a savory dish served alongside meats and such. If I remember correctly, pudding is also a term that can describe most type of desserts as well.
Hey not diverting you all from the coffee discussions, I just had to share some wedding pictures. We were talking about significance of the colour red and henna for the Indian brides.
Here is what a newly wed will look like -- This couple actually is a celebrity, but mostly the newly weds look like them. The brides do not wear such heavy saris all the time, but, as she is newly married she wants to look her best. Also, notice the henna painted hands. :D They are at a temple.

Okay, now we can go back to coffee discussions :D
Madhuri,
She is an actress isn't she?
I thing i saw a movie with a lot of spicies involved:)....... and if she did not play the lead role she sure looks exactly like that actress.
Oh yes, she is an actress Aishwarya Rai (now Bachchan). The movie you are talking about is -- Mistress of Spices. She did play the lead role in that movie.
Yes, that was the movie.
She is very beautiful and i have seen the movie recently, that's why i remembered, because the movie was not that great.
I saw the movie too, didnt leave a big impression on me. It's based on a book of the same name.
She is a wonderful Actress! I really liked her in 'Bride and Prejudice' (a bollywood styled pride and prejudice)
Oh... i think i might watch that later!
Yes, in that movie also you'll see a typical Punjabi style wedding or let's say a typical North Indian wedding.
I thought everything about the movie was wonderful!
anyone up for a game of tennis?
http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n...enniscourt.jpg
on this tennis court? I think I would die!
BTW: I was checking out the nightly rates and they had an opening in June and it was like $900.00 + American dollars to stay for the night! (btw: it's in Dubai --- has anyone ever been there?)
They were talking about this place on the Today show and I got interested. Don't think I'm wealthy enough to go here, but wow!
thats amazing!
I'd love to go to Dubai. but its very expensive.
I think i'd have a panic attack if i was up there!
Oh wow, good that I don't suffer from acrophobia ;).
I've never been to Dubai yet, but I once read an article on this artificial island they were planning to "build" off the Dubai coast as a tourist attraction:

Crazy people there :).
thats the Palm. They are also constructing The World. If you were a billionaire you might have been able to by Germany Cookie!

this is it here! mad isnt it!
Wow, that is amazing. And I'd not be in a rush to try that scary tennis court -- is that for real? Woo!
Madhuri, that picture you posted was lovely -- and the actress really is a beautiful girl. It is always fun to see what other cultures do for 'that special day'! :)
Hello!!!!
These pictures are lovely!
And Shalot - Wimbledon is just round the corner! Yayyy! Cant wait.
I just wanted to say hi, not been here for a while, buried deep down under with work, all my deadlines and exams in the next weeks!
Yikes! So whilst your sitting here, sipping different flavoured tea, take time to think of poor me. :-)
Opti i was wondering where you'd got to!
Good luck with the exams! dont stress yourself out too much!
Hmmm, it seems that Opti is not the only one working on exams, term papers, and all that jazz -- where is our dear Drama? And Asa Adams? Kan? (with or without the girly wig provided by our Niamh, tee hee!) These are some of the regulars who I've not seen lately! Well good luck to all out there who are slaving away for those grades ... it is well worth the extra elbow grease.
Sooooooooo, it has been awhile since we all gathered for a girly gab session. Hows about I put on the kettle and brew a nice pot of Cherry Rose Festival, a green tea with dried bits of cherry to enhance. Such nice tea, who shall provide the sweets for our tea?
I has been a while! Anyone for coffee?
Ah, elbow grease ! Thanks a lot, it is appreciated :D.
I volunteer, of course:Quote:

Ahhhh, many thanks, Schoks! Those sweet pretzels are killing my diet, but who cares, lol!
Hey, I see that you are reading a Margaret Atwood book -- what do you think? (She is one of my favorite Canadian authors, penning some brilliant short stories...)
Hi Niamh!
What kind of coffee ya got on tap? **closes eyes and tries to imagine**
I completed it yesterday, and liked it very much ! Here's my review: http://www.online-literature.com/for...890#post379890
It was my first book written by her, but won't be the last now ;). I must admit she was the first author I read whom I knew to be Canadian .
And a tea for me, pleeease ? :)Quote:

Cookie... all those goodies make me crave sweet food! Not good seeing as i had to make an emergancy visit to the dentist yesterday because of a horrible tooth ache! needless to say i discovered that i had a really bad cavity that went all the way to the nerve. have a temporary filling in and have been told my only options are A. get tooth pulled or B. root canal. Was thinking of be until i realised that the tooth is at the very back and you cant see it if i smile so might go for pulled. Option A would also save me about €600.
