Hi Amy, Welcome to the forum! I hope to see more of you.
Hey everyone all i can say and all i have ever said to the new once, this is great!!! I really think all of you will like it. So hope you have a good time around here!!!!!
Welcome Amy --Glad this site is inspiring visits to the library. Happy reading and happy posting.
Hey everyone, just thought I should introduce myself and this seems like the perfect place to do so. Please forgive me if I mess anything up somehow, I am still trying to figure out how some things on the site work.
Well, I am finishing up my second year at a community college here in Southern California. But I work so much it seems impossible for anyone to finish jr. college in two years. I plan on majoring in Anthropology. Studying this field though makes for an interesting life as a Christian, so sometimes I am sort of a flip flop. But whenever I am not working or in class, I am always caught with a novel in my hands.
When I was filling out my profile, I laughed when it asked me my favorite author...I have got so many! I like Tolkein, Bram Stoker, H.R. Haggard, and Mary Webb just to name a few. I guess you could say I like adventure / fantasy. I tried to read Jane Austen one time, and it was a bit of a disaster. I am sure I will get back to her later though. I read for pure enjoyment, but I seriously appreciate those out there who know these authors' works on such an intimate level. Some of you guys on this site are so smart that I look forward to being a part of it!
I don't know if it is just California, but nobody reads anymore! That is why I decided to join this site. It is amazing how some people just don't even care to listen about "some book" you read. As a twenty year old, I can't say that I have read hundreds of books, but it is sad to hear that so many people my age read so few.
Anyway, this is just an introduction...I think there will be plenty of time for me to ramble later.
Your instinct is right--this IS the right place to introduce yourself :p.

Hey, everyone.
I just want to say hello. I like reading very much, but because iŽm living in germany and my english is not very good i normally read german books. So iŽll start here reading, perhaps writing own threads later (the shy one :-) . Do you think that the popularity of some books depend on the region? Maybe there are bestseller in england, which are quite unknown in germany? i hope iŽll find out.
andreas.
Hi andreas, welcome to the forum. Now man, you can start a thread about it. *smiles*
