....It really depends on the situation.But if it was something like a lady who had her bag stolen, then yes, I would help her, but if the person was trying to murder someone-like they had a gun or potentially lethal weapon or were trying to kill me with a knife-then probably no.I would call the police though, and try to get outside assistance.This is a hard question to answer as I would decide in the moment-it's like a split second choice as in fight or flight-one of the primitive aspects of our nature.

Always fascinated me, too...very interesting subject. You know, it's not actually *impossible*...well it's not possible with the technology we have right now, but Paul Davies wrote a whole book about time travel from a scientific point of view ("How to Build a Time Machine" - a must-read if you're into popular science) and he believes it's possible (with a worm-hole or other ways...my memory's rusty but anyhow). Though one wouldn't be able to go further back in time than when the time machine was invented, e.g. say time machine (worm-hole sort) is invented in 3000 A.D. In the year 4000 you could go back to 3000, but not 2000 or 2999 (:D). You see, spacetime can be twisted (time is elastic) with a lot of gravity, warped, and bent to form a wormhole etc. Well, I'm pretty bad at explaining, as you can see, but if you read the book Davies (professor) will explain it better. It's worth the read...all about time and time paradoxes and how time-travel could be possible, at least from a theoretical point of view.Quote:
