Bounty "are you familiar with her version of the night they drove ol' dixie down?" No, but I´m going to find it. She has a beautiful voice and she sings with passion.

Bounty, listened to "the night they drove ol' dixie down"
I love these sung stories. You both, of course, know this song by the Walkers "There´s no more corn in the Brazos". It´s curious because the harmonic music hides a hideous story. Here in Brazil, where people usually didn´t understand the lyrics it was often played as a dancing music in the discos.

that's an interesting observation danik. it makes you wonder about the origins and intent of things. I used to pay attention to figure skating a long time ago. I remember watching ice dancing and the couple was using a song that came from one of the early Matrix movies. it seemed very suitable for use in a routine, but one of the commentators felt it necessary to point out how it came from one of the most violent movies ever. he seemed to be disgusted by it. I think his implication was sort of "how could these degenerate idiots have picked that music??"
these are a few of my favorite things by Julie Andrews from the musical (oh no tailor!) the sound of music

Love the musical. It was the second film, I think, I watched in life.
