Hello, my name is Roptat Lenz, pronounced Ropetyat lence, and I have been writing for quite some time. I am a 17 year old International Baccalaureate student, and I love creative outlets such as poetry, writing, and music. I began wriing at age 3, when I learned to read, and I have not stopped since- however, in the intervening years, I have dramatically improved my skills, and I have attained the paid position of staff writer on many websites.
My preferred outlet for literary creativity is the short story, closely followed by the roleplay. My standards for English are very high, and I have been referred to as "The Anglic Nazi," and "Old fuss and feathers." I hope my stay here will be enjoyable, and I hope to contribute in every way possible.
Bonjour, I recently decided to join this forum, after many weeks of viewing the posts. I am in high school and looking at colleges with nursing programs. My favorite pasttime, of course, is reading, especially Dickens, C. S. Lewis, Tolkien, and Chesterton. As I sometimes have difficulty understanding such authors as Dostoyevsky and Hawthorne, I greatly look forward to viewing and participating in the discussions. Au revoir.

Yes, I've finally surrendered to my nerdiness for literature--for who would fardels bear, to grunt and sweat in a primitive scholarly environment, the sustenance of which being mostly tasteless young adult novels, but that the dread of something succeeding apathy, the very much discovered country from whose bourne every pimply traveler returns, frightens the will and makes us rather bear those ills we have than skip to others we know not of? Thus, conscience doth make conformist cowards of us all, and thus the native hue of astounding resolution is sickled o'er with the pale cast of childish and sometimes adult fantasy, and enterprises of great pith and moment with this regard their currents turn awry, and lose the name of reckless action.
TL;DR: I love literature so I decided to join this forum.

Hi everyone, my name is Aileen Stewart and I am a new children's author. Watch for my book Fern Valley soon to be released by Tate Publishing. You can find me on FB, Authors Den, Twitter, and my own website listed on my profile page.
Hi, I'm a sixth-former at a school in Northern Ireland, doing A-Levels in French, German and Spanish but I want to study Russian at university, so I'm reading a lot of foreign stuff!
Hello, fellow lit nerds!
I am not, as the name implies, french... just your regular ol' high schooler. Love books, music, art, writing, culture. I am a hopeless romantic.
Much love, looking forward to visiting this place often.
Nice to meet all of you! As the name implies, I really enjoy editing other peoples works and enjoy books in general. I hope I can help some people out with their editing problems, and read some interesting literature in the process.
I am a new member to this forum. I am re-reading Anthony Trollope's Barsetshire novels. In The Small House At Allington (1864) he is writing about people dining together. He says that the diners could not speak freely until the "the door was tiled, and the servants were gone." Does anybody out there know the meaning of the phrase "the door was tiled"?
Hi
I fancy myself a Proust.
Hello
