My name is... Ely Massacre. =P I am 18 years old, and some-odd months. This type of thing, posting stories in a forum [or just using a forum] is pretty new to me. So I hope you guys can be patient when I post! Sorry if I screw anything up, just say, "Ely, babe, blah blah blah".
My favorite thing to do is write. My hand has been moving across paper since before pre-school, and I've been reading for about that long as well. I don't really have a favorite book [though I posted one on my "About me", simply to post something there]. Currently, I've been following Christopher Pike and Richelle Mead. They write the best [modern] vampire books yet. No, I am not a Twilight fan. In any way. :/ GTFTO. Other than writing and reading, painting is another passion of mine. My first works to be submitted into [next year's] art show is of a picture my mother took. I might post it, once my teacher returns my painting to me! At this very moment, I'm watching comedy central. Not really on my personal "T.V. Guide", but it's a Saturday. What are you really going to find on television! Favorite shows include: Spongebob [I'm dead serious], aaaall the Nick classics [RIP ):], as well as CSI and watching paranormal investigations with my family.
Hello, all. This is Madame speaking, obviously, and I'm glad to be here. Since the beginning of time, my hobby and passion has been writing, and I hope to one day-probably in the next few minutes, honest, haha- spread my talents onto you all. Ooh, that sounded narcissistic, but hopefully, you understand what I mean. I'm not going to write a long paragragh about myself, for whatever I have to say, it will be expressed in my writing. I'm just going to hope that you read what I have to say, and that you critique me without mercy.
Today was the first day I decided that if I am lost in plain sight, then I can find me if I listen with my eyes closed..new place in my journey.
I have never read much poetry, mostly high school stuff. Today I layed on my bed watching T.V., "GI Jane" all the time thinking I should get dressed and do something constructive, I found my self giving in to "not feeling well" and going back to bed...then all at once I found myself looking for more about the poem at the end...."Self-Pity". I discovered that I can take the first step and will continue to pray for the next...Thank you Trixi

I'm a middle school student in 9th grade english. I love reading and writing and really enjoy writing short stories. I take French and really enjoy music (piano, clarinet, etc.). And, I really like bright colors.:grouphug::bday_2:

I used to adore reading, but I've done so less because of various things that have happened or are happening, but I still love to write and thought I should maybe pursue this.

I give up pretending to be french wouldn't last very long anyway... So ive been revealed as a English speaker masquarading as a frenchie. Not a good start i fear.
I joined today after much pondering over whether it is the right idea or not. I have joined a lot of forums before and never contributed so I'm hoping that this is where that all changes (I wouldn't hold out guys and gals).
Confession first. My grammer is bad and so is my spelling. Im not apologising for it only establishing a mutal agreement between me and the grammer nazis. I dont think someone should feel 'banned' from using certain words and phrases because of it's difficult to spell or you don't think you've written the sentance correctly. So no 'down-on-my-knees' apology here.
As i believe everyone is on this forum I get excited by literature and writing. I wont elaborate. To find out more see the posts that I will post in the future.

Good: I can express various pent-up thoughts and emotions.
Bad: Those that enjoy the human language will see me harm it with multiple misspellings, misapplied comma's and run-on sentences.

I'm new to this blog. I'd thought it would be fun to join an elitist group who discuss literature and post thoughtful things about it. I'm actually a bit stumped as to how I make a post on my blog and as simple as the FAQ section is, I'm technologically inept.
The catalyst to my joining of this community is essentially the dismal mark which i received for a short story that I wrote, thus I would like to seek validation elsewhere.
If anybody could possibly shed some light on how to post on the blog feature or even pm some of the stories, it would be immensely and inexplicably appreciated. If somebody would also like to read my "modern fairytale" [which is relatively short] just drop me a line.

Yes, I am brand new to the site and looking forward to reading many posts. Favorite books was one suggestion to include in our introductions. They certainly change over time, don't they? So many of mine are British: Wodehouse, Dickens, Thirkell, Durrell, Martin Gilbert. I'm getting in to African lit now and read as much non-fiction as I can fit in--almost all of it about nature and wildlife.
Not a movie goer. Should I be ashamed to admit that?
Music--Elvis Costello, The Pogues, the Clash, some Jackson Browne, the Black Keys, the Radiators from Space, Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Handel. The list goes on.
