Technology as a whole was and still is used and designed for a purpose, which is making the human race and our actions/thoughts faster, and our desires easier to be obtained. The overall flaw of the human race as a whole is greed, in the sense of every aspect of our daily activities, whether it be going to church in order to gain a higher spot for yourself in the after life (I personally am an athiest so this doesant apply to myself), or getting up in the morning to go to work.
So you may ask "how does greed apply to television?" Well think about it, why do most of us watch television? Most do it for fun or entertainment, some do it just because they have nothing else to do. This will eventually lead to a more advanced state of fahrenheit 451, where the only thing humans will strive for is a more intense state of entertainment. At this point, productivity will cease to exist, save partially finished AI servents which will bring food and refreshments to the chairs where humanity will die out. So, in ending, or flaw "greed" which powers capitalism will in the end eat out its bearers, US. I know its a sad prediction, but it will eventually happen when everyone can get anything for nothing.
