I was considering both but wasn't sure if there were any/enough translations.

Pensive> By Persia, you mean today's Iran, right? (Persian is spoken in Afganistan, too :))
What about Cuba? :( (Is there such a thing as Cuban literature anyway?)
I nominate Sweden. :)
Yes, I meant Iran of the modern day. It was known as Persia in ancient times. Actually, there was a time when Persian was quite prevalent in Indian subcontinent as well...but Persian is a language and so it can be spoken anywhere even though it originated from the present Iran while Persia (Iran) is a country.
Thank you Pensive. Now that we have agreed that it is Iran that you want to nominate(since there is no country called Persian today), the nominations so far are:

Okay so i'll take we are going with Ireland as a whole and not as two separate countries.:)
Sorry Niam. I must have overlooked your question earlier; yes, I think it might be a good idea to keep it as a whole. :)
Thats fair enough. Only problem now is that if Ireland is voted, theres too many good writers to choose from!:p ;)
Scher i think you have Germany twice on the list..
Lots of counties. Should be an interesting vote.
I was going to nominate Mexico, but that's already up there so...
Dang! Greece is already up as well! I guess I'll just wait for the voting to start....
