This be a hard choice, but we shall nominate the following:
Basil - his posts are always amusing
Scher - gotta nominate the book club mod
Baddad - we remember that he has said that he has done, well... everything.

even though i would be considered a newbie i shall vote based on my very little knowledge of the members
uno jakobin for writing when he was completely pissed
two thatindidual for his fantastic contribution to the philosophy threads
tiga koa cause i see her name popping up everywhere so that must be because she is deeply devoted to this website..
:D
Only one nomination for member of the year because everyone I would have nominated has already been nominated.
Logos who's a great moderator and always makes the newbies feel welcome even if they've no intention of hanging around.
I'll have to think about the new categories.
A difficult proposition indeed! In the case of my own preferences as to who just might rate such a lofty accolade, I see the impossible! I'm willing to give many kitkats as award to all who have participated in the miriad discussions available on this site. But to choose a favorite??....no, it is impossible.
I am truly amazed at the great young minds that visit here. Their philosophical stances, their insights, their struggles with the issues of becoming the person who later in life they will be, the constant revealing and bravery of personal truths, and the incredible level of acceptance of others that new generations of youth excel at, indeed elevate all of mankind with. How do you choose the best Picasso, the best Kant, the best Umberto Eco??? I am humbled by the presence here of so much greatness, and shall limit my three choices to three deep bows offering honour to all........
*and a little special curtsy for friend MONO*
Baddad, looks like if you were nominating anyone your nomination would be Mono who definitely deserves it, but you do have a very valid point. Everyone nominated deserves it and for many different reasons and many others that haven't been nominated probably deserve it as well. This site is truly full of inteligent and good spirited people and it is hard to just pick three who stand out which is why I think that's one reason having categories is a good idea. Lessens the burden of elimination to some extent I think. :)

Do I really have to choose?!
(drumroll...) BEHOLD! The Nominees...
I.) In the field of Christian apologetics, for his unwavering and valiant
defense of the faith in the face of my unrelenting attacks
thereupon... Indeed, for his ever tasteful , ever-humble,
demeanor while discussing such a touchy, emotionally-charged
subject, the nomination goes to: Pendragon!
II.) For her wonderfully skeptical and refreshingly undecided views on
divers philosophical topics... For her love of the question itself,
rather than despair of an answer, this second nomination goes to:
Martha Q!
III.) And last of the three, yet certainly however, not least of the
three, simply for the selection of such a screen name... Also
in the department of Christian apologetics... A reader, the screen
name of whom never fails to bring a smile upon my lips... A reader,
the screen name of whom reminds me of my favorite Peanuts
character, barring Snoopy of course... Linus! Specifically, Linus
from It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! For the last
nomination, I name none other than: Jesuswillcome !
Lo! Behold! These are my nominations.
I nominate Samercury because she was so helpful with my project!
I nominate Aurek_Waverly ffor being the only one to check out my message board
I WOULD nominate Admin or that other moderator dude, but they deleted my Private Messaging caopabilities, so my last nominee will be... subterranean for being one of the most active people, in my eyes, in this forum.
C u
The only person here capable of changing a specific users' control functions is Admin, not any of the Mods.Quote:
