Party All the Time- Eddie Murphy
the song gives me goosebumps NikolaiI---I hope you like it. there are lots of versions of it; I think I like pared down ones the best---its a haunting piece and so an emphasis on voice is better.
get this party started--pink
Is This Love? ~ Bob Marley
I did indeed. . Over the last couple years I have gotten very much into Scottish and Irish music. . I found my way to some greats. . Planxty, Bothy Band, Archie Fisher. . that's why I always look for the best, because eventually you find it :)
I'd be curious to know what you think of Mountain Rain by Archie Fisher, if you feel like it.
"Song for a Friend" is another one by him that both of these give me goosebumps too
Btw I never knew Enya was Celtic music either until I learned a lot of the others :)
What is Love? - Haddaway
hehe is that the famous version? I love that!
Give Me Love - George Harrison
(give me peace on earth)
Give It Away - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Don't Take It Away - Conway Twitty
nikolaiI I hunted up archie fisher's mountain of rain and loved it, thank you. will find the other one also, and I trust i'll start listening to more of him.
this isn't celtic, but while I was listening, I thought of nick drake, and I suspect you might like him...and that got me thinking then of ben harper.
at various times in life ive listened to a streaming station on the internet called liveireland. you might enjoy finding that. and do you use Pandora at all?
have you tried some loreena mckennit?
and if you really like the classic/traditional folk type stuff---you might like the chieftains, the corries, and the dubliners.
just walk away renee--left bank (and a great cover by Vonda shepherd)

Over the Hills and Far Away - Led Zeppelin

I haven't heard of it, but I am sure I will like it. (liveireland, that is)
one of the first performances I heard when I was getting into this type of music was De Dannan, just about an hour long live performance, in a home setting. . .
really I have heard a lot of people mention those bands and maybe one day I will get to them. . but for now the Bothy Band and Planxty could fill a lifetime. . Kevin Burke from Bothy Band is. . I just have no words to describe how beautiful this music is or how much it has enriched my life. I'm.. selective about what I listen to.. I've actually found that principle of selectivity runs through everything. . .even if I limit myself to the top .01% of music, literature, poetry, the rest - I still have a lifetime to go through; and that kind of beauty in art and the rest can really have such a wonderful effect.
I heard a bit of Loreena McKennit and will look up more. . I tend not to like videos that have music videos - I used to love them; but they are a bit of a waste of bandwidth in my current view. . so I guess that partly draws me towards music where a lot of it is studio or doesn't have a video.
Nope, I don't listen to Pandora.. I have, plenty. . one thing is they compress the songs a great deal... there is some richness that is lost when they do that. although - it's quite nice that it doesn't have any commercials!
Fly Away - John Denver and Olivia Newton-John
I'll Fly Away - Rev. Gary Davis
