Hey everyone nice joining this group im sure it wil help me withmy english studies fine!
I am a new author and trying to sharpen my writing skills. I have one self published book completed and I just finished my second. I am trying to find an agent and thus a publisher. My current title is a childrens chapter book. I am learning the difficult task of send it and wait. This is a very slow moving process. Anyway I have a good sense of humor and I love constructive criticism.
byndhlpng = beyond helping LOL I am new to the forums world so if I error please be parient and correct me and I will try to improve. I am currently in edit mode for my new book and I will say it like this:
If I have to be miserable, then by gooly I'm gonna be happy doing it!!!

so having blabbed all that out of my system I will say Hello. I am mostly a morning person so communication from me will most likely originate from that time of day. I write my best in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee and a clear mind. OK OK I blabbed enough .... so buy fur now!!!!

I live in Germany in a village near a town... my favorite authors are amos oz, Khalil Gibran, Shakespeare, Dostovesky, Tolstoy... the list is endless in music, books, poetry....
and what can I say about my hobbies I like reading, living, being with with friends....
My favorite book is The Prophet from Khalil Gibran especially were it says that your children arent your children, all my successes, all my mistakes is compared to my parents but im my own person not them. I have alot from both of them but Im also something new, but this truth is so uncommon, but I wish I could call Khalil Gibran up and ask him what he means with all of that and whats being like to write such a amazing book and to know this things to have words for that I have no words for all of that...
My wishes for the future a being kind, being thoughtful, being present in the moment, every moment, reduces unneccessary stresses and laugh as much as possible... LOVE TO ALL HER IN THIS BOARD.... Take care....

Another Khalil Gibran fan - welcome, there are one or two of us here already.
I do agree with your favourite section,
........the line 'You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth'.......
every parent should adhere to that philosophy.

New here, dont know quite what to expect but hope I have fun.
Hiii, everyone, I'm from NYC, and was motivated to register here, since I've been taking English Lit the past two semesters at CUNY. I'm also a writer of poetry, and always loved to read just about anything for as long as I can remember..tonight, as a matter of fact, I'm working on a research paper - which has to be about one of the poetry pieces we covered this semester..I'm leaning towards either a Dickinson poem, not sure as of the moment though. Happy to be onboard, great forum you guys have here!

I've noticed that there is some discussion of art here as well; personally, I am a big fan of Renaissance art and Neoclassicism (although nothing beats a top notch discussion of Jean-Michel Basquiat or other modernist). Jacques-Louis David is certainly my favorite painter: his "Oath of the Horatti" is one of the most pleasing paintings both in design and message.
