Living for eternity would mean that I have to trancend the human life, and would become a god basically, so I don't think I would mind living for eternity, I'll just play some card with the other gods of the universe, and maybe created a few new worlds while I am at it.
Or maybe I'll just become a bored decadent grumpy old man who continues to age but doesn't die. Rather not take the chance, so no living for eternity for me.

I don't remember who says this but I like it: I think in a movie, "Troy". "Gods envy us because we are mortals. Each moment we live could be the last. That's why we enjoy each moment as it is the last. In this moment you're so beautiful than ever." Or something like that. That's why I would not opte for eternity to savour each moment I live as to be the last one. Life is short and in its shortness is its beauty. Why suffering the lost of all whom I love and with whom I spent marvelous time, and by the end, I will find myself lonly and isolated from the world. I already miss being with my friends whom I was with yesterday. No for eternity, yes for mortality.

As you spend your life you will find, hopefully not too late, that your dreams are the only things worth chasing. To find a dream and spend life chasing it is to spend life well. Maybe in your eyes you may not be a success. But other people watch, and other eyes see. If you could see yourself through their eyes, you might get a shock. The person who is most critical is that way sometimes out of admiration not disappointment. ;)

I find that it's easy to achieve goals once you have them, but finding a goal that I REALLY want to accomplish is the hardest thing. For me it's easiest to float along in life until something makes me sit up and pay attention and once I have an interest I'm after it.....SO I guess it's a little of both.

I'm undecided. I really want my kids to watch 'Narnia', but won't they miss out on so much by not reading them first? Would it be taking something away?
Well, I think it really depends whether you are talking about taking them to see it at the movies or just watching it at your home.I think if one was wishing to watch it on the giant screen then they would be disappointed that they missed it, as they will never get to see it like that again.But if it is only on DVD, then I would suggest to get them to read the wonderful books first, then say "Now we can compare it, and watch the film together."

Definitely give the pet back. It wouldn't be fair to the animal to keep it if it wasn't loved.

Yes. If I were to keep the pet, it would be even more disappointing for them to see that I didn't take good care of it, to see that I didn't take good care of the gift and that I mistreated it. So I would just be honest and say I can't do it... even if I disappointed them, but I'm sure that's what they would prefer.
To answer the new question, no... what's the point if there's no one to enjoy it with?
Having only one opportunity to travel through time, would you go back to the past to change something wrong you did and risk what effects it could have on the future, or would you stay in the present and leave everything how it is?

Depends on the feedback. If you hear the movie sucks, watch that first (most negative criticism tends to come from comparision to the book). Otherwise, I'd go for the book first.

I wouldn't really care... if you read the book, the movie is spoiled for you, if you watch the movie, the book is spoiled for you. Even though, it seems to be worser if the book is spoiled for you, so I would read the book first I guess, but to me it doesn't really matter, I can still enjoy both.

It's okay :) It's a tough question for me. My children aren't old enough to read these books yet, so I feel like I could be taking away a real personal imaginative experience by letting them watch the movie. But AA had a good point, only one chance to see it on the big screen. Perhaps by the time they are old enough to read it enough time will have passed to make the experience quite new. hmmmmmm. For you adilyouseff, you obviously know how to read, and I think the audio book would be similar to reading it. Since the language is quite simple, of course, since it's written for children, I'd say go ahead and see the movie before you read the book.....sorry this is so drawn out:)
