Àaii!
Yeah it’s weird. I’d get the “banned” message whenever I tried to post a limerick for Esther’s “laugh along with limerick” prompt last week. (Night) Maybe the algorithm didn’t like the poem. I mean it was pretty silly. I based it on a Funk tune from the 70s by Parliament, Mothership Connection.
I like those night reflections from beyond, Tailor, and Muldoon's a great name for someone laughing like a loon, Sancho.
The word this week from Esther is "apple": https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/02/...-limerick-270/
There once was a queen who thought she
was the loveliest queen that could be,
till Snow White came along.
Though that apple was wrong,
the queen's gone, right or wrong, thankfully.
I know that story... Enjoyed :)
A Golden Key
She was the apple of his eye
Of that no one could deny
She passed on this winter morn
And though our hearts are torn
Our faith soars in rich supply

Two strong emotions there, one inward, one outward. Condolences, Tailor. Mine leans into the silly:
Should’a went with the donut
There once was a fellow named Ritter
Who wolfed down a huge apple fritter
It didn’t sit right
His belly got tight.
So he spent the whole night on the…toilet
Thanx.
Lololol... definitely silly (shaving creamesque). Enjoyed :)

This week Esther offers "cast": https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/02/...-limerick-272/
Cast Your Cares Away
All my worries are worrying fast.
They have cast into now what was past,
but today is today
and the past's gone away
and this worrisome present won't last.
Enjoyed the word play with past, present, and future :)
John 14 KJV
Cast away your cares and fears
Heed prophets, revelators, and seers
Repent if necessary your natural man
Invest your energy in salvation's plan
Serenity will master this vale of tears

Good advice, Tailor.
Esther offered the word "hiss" for this week's limericks: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/03/...-limerick-273/
Kiss Like This
There is bliss when a kiss doesn't miss
though that snake in the grass loves to hiss.
Though the moon might be round
the fine sun can be found
in that bliss when we kiss just like this.
Enjoyed :)

This week Esther offers "shout" as her limerick prompt: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/03/...-limerick-274/
The Joy of Sprouting
It might sprout if it only went out
of its shell and then looked all about,
saw the sun in the sky
and white clouds flying high.
If it did, watch it sprout with a shout.
Enjoyed :) Forgive me for being behind in my offerings... they are on my To Do list, which is more a "round to it" list come to think of it at this point.

hiss and shout: at the bazaar
a hiss then a shout
then all blazes came about
dancing like a five-legged fool
as a viper took me to school
I left unharmed but more devout

Got to avoid those vipers at the bazaar! Nice one, Tailor!
Esther offers "bath" for this week's limericks: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/03/...-limerick-275/
Since a shower's as good as a bath
and my heart is more sure than my math,
I'll rejoice and I'll say
I am blessed everyday day
and not lost - not at all - on this path.
Thanx :)
The covenant path is the sure way... Enjoyed :)

unto life eternal
The covenant path is not paved with gold
yet for the weary and faithful is highly extolled
imagine being bathed in His life giving light
then with our departed families we reunite
cleansed every whit for our God to behold!

Amen, Tailor! I agree. We will reunite with them bathed in His life. Blessings!
Esther offers "ride" for this week's limericks: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/03/...-limerick-276/
When I ride I can look out and say,
What a wonderful, wonderful day!
If you're sighing inside,
then come out for a ride.
Do not hide for the Lord leads the way.

In the Land of Færie
A færie maiden I once knew loved to ride
upon dragonflies with me by her side
We'd laugh as we dart through the forest
seeing who was the more airworthiest
Neither giving quarter till eventide

Riding dragonflies is wonderful and in a way we all do. Beautiful limerick, Tailor.
Esther offers "treat" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/03/...-limerick-277/
There once was a treat in a jar
on a shelf way up high very far
from the floor where he could
eat it up and he would
if he could get his nose in the jar.
Sounds like a Pooh story, lol... Enjoyed :)
treat yourself
treat yourself to some joy today
and keep the old doldrums at bay
seek uplifting glimmers
and all things that shimmers
be the light for all to survey

An Easter Dessert 4.5.2026
Sitting down with some lemon pie... Ai!
A stinging pierced the inside of my thigh
Methought it must be needles or pin
Thus shed outer garments to peer within
A yellow jacketed wasp sheepishly gone awry

That was a kind of Pooh story now that you mention it. May we treat ourselves to joy every day. That wasp must have got lost.
Esther offers "cape" for this week's limericks: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/04/...-limerick-278/
With a cape, funny clothes, I will fly
doing good as the bad guys go by.
Some will change. Some will not.
Some get burned. Some have got
nary one good excuse not to cry.
Sad poem of those who have need for repentance after an intervention of goodly super human effort. Enjoyed :)

Esther offers "scream" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/04/...-limerick-279/
Though I thought it might help if I'd scream,
but caught as I was in a dream
a scream couldn't come out,
no, not even a shout,
and right now I've forgotten that dream.
Dreams like that are worthy of forgetting. Enjoyed :)

Very nicely done limerick on parting. Poor Canada Goose.
Esther offers "box" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/04/...-limerick-280/
Like some rocks in a black and blue box
I discovered the truth of hard knocks.
Being knocked all about
I had no breath to shout
except, "Help me get out of this box!"
Lol... Enjoyed :)
Back in a bit... your prompt has already tickled an idea :)

I like the thought of having a box to crawl in in the attic. The dramatic can get way too dramatic.
Esther offers "floor" for this week's limericks: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/04/...-limerick-281/
As I stand on the solid wood floor,
as I walk to the open wood door,
there is more there to see,
but I don't being me.
Let me change. Ah, just did! I see more!
New vistas... Enjoyed

Esther offers this week two words, "prince" and "clean", since she'll be out next week: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/05/...-limerick-282/
Our fine prince is a wonderful guy.
When he walks all the ladies say, "Hi!"
All the dragons do, too,
as he walks through the zoo.
What a wonderfully wonderful guy.
Lol... Prince and Alex should get together... Enjoyed the poem and the alliteration :)
vince
a frog told a princess he was a prince
in fact he said his name was vince
but she had her doubts
'cause she was used to these louts
sent vince to her chef (he hasn't been seen since)

That is the danger of a frog approaching a princess. He might be sent to the chef.
Esther offered a second word last week because she is gone this week. Here is my limerick using "clean".
Clean Limerick
He’s pretentiously, pompously clean
except when his rhymes are obscene,
but he’s doing his best,
so he said, then confessed
that his best is much better unseen.
A bit ambiguous, but well done :)
Adding to my collection of "anonymous" limericks:
An Anonymous Dude Named Wayne
Wayne was so dope and so clean
and his eyes were all sparkly and green
when he sang in the hood
he was mostly misunderstood
'cause he mumbled whilst playing tambourine

May Wayne be blessed wherever he goes to sing.
Esther offers "warn" for this week's limerick: https://estherchilton.co.uk/2026/05/...-limerick-283/
Bliss In Spite Of Warning
Diving deep in delusion he goes.
You might warn him, but waters now close
and who knows where he'll be
when a kiss sets him free
as the bliss of eternity grows.
At least he got a kiss... Enjoyed :)
fair warning and following seas

to alter your diet if need be lest you die

for man was fated for longer life spans
