Kathycf -- I love old tiles - is this one old or antique? This tile is gorgeous! Love that color of green. Makes a nice avatar photo. Very striking!
Thanks Janine. It is a new tile, handmade by some company...I am not even sure if they are in business anymore. It looks old because it is in the Art Deco style. I like that look, I only wish (as I just mentioned to somebody) that I could afford to buy tiles like that for my house. :)
*edit* I found the website, but now feel really guilty. I downloaded the picture when it came up in a search for something else, and looking at the site, all images and work is copyrighted to the artistan. Yeeps, I guess I better get a new avatar now. :( Well, you can see for yourself, they have wonderful tiles here. Wandering Fire Pottery
Absolutely gorgeous, Kathy.
Thanks Virgil. :D It is really nice, I hate to change it now!
A ghost dragon and new poetry. Not feeling well lately. :(
Thanks for telling, I was wondering what that figure is...:)
Get well soon!!
Thanks gals. Getting called "trash" by your own mother, even at my age is like a knife in the heart. God knows I love that lady, and do everything I can for her, but I can't take much more of this...
gave myself a new avatar. Another one of frouds Faeries. I'm not sure if i'll stick to it though. think my old one was a lot more mischievious!
Kathy i like your new avatar!
Thanks Niamh. I am having concerns about it though, because I found out that the tile it is based on is the intellectual property of the person who crafted it. I suppose I better change it, else I croak from the guilt. :(
:) Kathy,These tiles are gorgeous - wow $50 each - a bit steep. I wonder... is not all or most of the things we post in avatars copyrighted? Just hope she does not join Lit Net. It is good advertising for her/him anyway. Oh, well...I hate to see it go...it is so pretty to look at...sad:(
Kathy, more than likely the person/artist designing the tiles took the designs from a copyright - free book. I have several on Art Deco. Artists all steal to some extend. Well, if you do change it I know you will find a nifty new one. You have had several I admired. If you want something like this I can look into my book and see if I can find you a nice photo....just scan a design. Those are copyright free. I actually have two books, I think, of Deco designs. Lots of greens, too - that was a popular color. I used to deal in antiques. I should use one of my antique plates as an avatar. I had thought of that awhile back.
