Hello to all members! I am pleased to see that there is a virtual place like this one. I know I will enjoy it, so much!
I live in Cairo, Egypt but I am Romanian. I had to learn English when I arrived in here in order to communicate better to people. I found Arabic, too difficult for the beginning. I started to read in English and I got familiar to this. I have my Master in Comparative Literature and I am just a simple teacher. Wish all of you a nice day!
Call me Isidro.
I have a bachelors in English Education and since Masters is not in the cards at the moment, I figured this is the next best thing for now. My favorite books are The Minister's Wooing by Harriet Beecher Stowe, Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens, The Bloody Chasm by John W. De Forest, The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis and the list goes on and on. William Blake, Milton, and Dante top my favorite poets, I can't even narrow down to a favorite essayist, and I wish Jane Austen had written more since I have already devoured everything she wrote.
With affection to my dear literati!

Uhm. HI EVERYONE!
Well, I'm here because I'm an Eng Lit student and wanted to talk to some like minded people without the constraints of the class room. As well as studying Literature I have also taken Language and Sociology in hopes of doing some concoction of the three and journalism at university in a year.
I come from sunny ole England town, where it's grim up t'North :)
Okay, that's the last time I'll type out my accent, promise!
I enjoy a wide range of books and only wish I could read more. I'm currently reading Oliver Twist and looking forward to starting either Notes on a Scandal or One For My Baby when I'm done. I'm also studying Dracula, Dr Faustus, Macbeth, A Handful of Dust AND Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf this year. So no doubt I'll be back with many a question.
Earlier this year I managed to get my dream student job in Waterstones. However they wanted me to work Saturday and Sunday and I'd never have a day off or get to see my boyfriend/friends/family/myself properly so I quit...then promptly lost my other job. So that was a bit of a knock back.
When I'm not stressing over work and school I enjoy all the typical teenager things. Shopping, cinema, being blind drunk, anything of that nature. As well as occasionally picking up my knitting needles and maybe even getting a nice afternoon on my bike.
Anyway. That was rather boring. But Hi everyone, no doubt I'll get to post plenty of questions and maybe even some answers while I'm here :)
hi :)
hi,everyone, its good to be here. i have a question for anyone who is willing to help me out with it
Hello everybody, I hope to share my short stories on here and receive some good feedback.
Hello guys !
well.... i dont think my personality is such as to require a high flown introduction. So, here is a brief one. I love literature and like to read books, specially novels. Besides reading, I listen to music, watch movies and sometimes i draw too. Thats all !
Hello Miss Everdene,
Welcome to te Lit Net forum. I'm sure you will find your visits interesting and informative. The great thing about the site is that it caters for intelligent readers regardless of their individual tastes. It would be nice to know which country or location you are from which helps to avoid misunderstandings when engaged in the general as opposed to the literary part of the forum.
Anyway, enjoy.
Hi, my name is Rachel.
I Joined because I love discussing the books I read. I'm obsessed with member book reviews as well.
Hello folks,
Greece here. It gets rather gloomy in Athens in September, even if the whole nation refuses to accept that summer is finally over and insists on walking around looking at the sky and smiling. You seen that movie, Shawn of the Dead? Remember the opening scene where Londoners walk around looking like zombies, even if they haven't become ones yet? That's Athens. Only, in Edgar Wright's cult creation Londoners don't smile. We smile. Constantly. Irritating, stupid bunch of idiotically smiling zombies.
Maybe it's the olive oil.
I enjoy grumbling.
I also enjoy football, cooking, and surfing the net for porn. I often go to a bar called "Jazz in Jazz" whose owner and bartender is in love with an Argentinian dancer and wants to move to ****in Buenos Ayres. I like good whiskeys, but unfortunately I can only afford mediocre ones.
I'm thankful for the last six months, in which I've been with someone who might very well turn out to be the love of my life. It's a woman. Sorry, if I hadn't specified that my whole post would make me look incredibly gay. Which I'm not. Not that I've got something against gays, it's just that I'm not. If I were I would make sure I have the best time possible, but I'm just not. Alright?
Although my friend Dimitri is indeed gay. Married, but gay. I don't see much of him unfortunately, but I do see quite a bit of three guys I've been close friends with since primary school. My friends are a very important part of my life. We all sit there and drink scotch and smoke and wonder whether Dimitri's wife knows what a faggot her husband is.
I think that's it. I've covered everything about myself and run out of conversation.
This is a great forum to discover, and I'm very glad I'm here. I'm looking forward to contributing.
Best regards,
DocHeart
Hello everyone. It's good I'm following Miss Everdene, since we're studying Far From the Madding Crowd at school, and I live in Pakistan.
