Thanks!
A beautiful poem, but to me it figures not only a physical landscape, but also the inevitable presence of mortality.

"Leaves of poplars" - Carl Sandburg; Moonset ... https://www.poeticous.com/carl-sandburg/moonset

Thanks for the analysis it enriches the reading of the poem. I have lived in a kitch myself, but here in a region of many contrasts. The apartments are in their majority small, but one has a lot of facilities: food places, laundromats, drugstores at ones door, also theaters and movie theaters, museums, gyms all at the door. And buses and tube to everywhere. Overall there is a certain bohemian atmosphere here. One lives here by choice and that is not the case of Gwendolyn Brooks' poem.
Loved this dark Moonset.

Note: Seems this poet goes by two names, E J Waling and John Prophet

You are blessed to live in such a rich urban, yet Bohemian, locale :)
Enjoyed :) "Capacity / hones / creation, / reality." His bio adds this glimmer about him: "E.J. Waling is considered by many in the literary community to be the Salvador Dalí of poetry. His rough-hewn unfettered style mimics the artist’s unconventional view of perceived reality." Will continue to study his poetry :)
