"The dark knight" 7/10.
It was nice..but i'll stick to Tim Burton's version :D
the last that i saw was anastasia... it was a feel- good movie.. i was inspired:yawnb:
Chariots of Fire ~ great film; saw it years ago and it was just as memorable this time around; who can beat that soundtrack! Think it is good timing on my part viewing this since the Summer Olympic Games opened today in China.
16 Blocks. Amazingly enough I actually enjoyed it. I'm a fan of Bruce Willis, but I just thought his latest movies aren't that good. But this one was good. Not as good as Die Hard, but it's good.
"Love Is Colder Than Death" -- 6/10
I really enjoyed some of Fassbinder's other films, especially "The Marriage of Maria Braun", but this movie was very uneventful and overly stylized. I believe that this was his debut, so I'm glad that he went on to make better films.
Wall-E (Disney/pixar studios)
3/10
Really disappointing... even for a young audience. I usually really like Pixar movies but this one is way below expectations. I think that watching the trailer is more than enough sincethe funniest parts are included in it...
Dark Night 8/10
It's a good movie but it isn't perfect, nor a masterpiece. But Dark Night is definitely beter than Batman Begins, so Nolan is learning from his mistakes :)
First of all: acting. Of course Ledger is playing first fiddle in this movie. It's really very good role. Before I've seen it, I doubt if anyone can act Joker as well as Nicholson did. But I was wrong. It's hard to decide who is better in that role. Aaron Eckhart as Hravey Dent was good too. Of course he didn't have so interesting role, but I like that Eckharto showed reliably change of Dent. Next... Maggie Gyllenhaal... She's certainly better than Kate Holmes(thanks to Nolan that he didn't hire that starlet again). But I think that Gyllenhaal just doesn't fit to this role. She's got actress but not in this movie. The biggest dissapointing was Christian Bale as Batman. Really I prefer Michael Keaton in this role. And of course Gary Oldman, Michael Claine, Morgan Freeman were great, though their roles were rather small.
Next thing- music is fitting to the gloomy spirits of Gotham. Another things- scenario, direction, special effects are faultless. But for me movie was sometimes unrealsitic. I know that is a story about superhero etc., but to compare while I was watching Batman and Batman Returns I've never thought that those films were unrealistic. To sum up-it's really a good movie with awesome Ledger. But still I prefer Burton's movies. And I would have forgotten- the ending of course is done in way that we should expect continuation soon :)
From Here To Eternity 10/10
A true classic. Worthy of all eight Oscars it won. Superb!

I've watched quite a few movies this week:
"The King of Kong" -- 9/10
Donkey Kong champion Billy Mitchell is one of the funniest characters from a documentary I've ever seen. Only an arrogant douchebag of immense proportions could say things like: "Everything I say sparks controversy...I'm kind of like the abortion issue."
"Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" -- 8.5/10
Sidney Lumet is still turning out excellent films, even though he's well into his 80s. Hoffman and Hawke were great as well.
"Teeth" -- 7/10
This was such an interesting concept, but it didn't work as well as it could have, in my opinion. The tone of movie wasn't consistent. It seemed like the director couldn't decide whether he was making a horror, a black comedy, or a satire. It definitely gets points for originality, though.
Tristan and Isolde was the last film I viewed in the last month...
The film is perfect for me:thumbs_up
The background music is so affecting..the plot is amazing..many struggle inside the characters....Amazing!!
October Sky - 8/10.
The acting was pretty good. Plot was very interesting. The photography and some other elements were okay too and most of all it had my favourite hero in it! :D
Mamma Mia 9/10. Point deducted because of Pierce Brosnans voice.
Went with my Mam and two of my sisters. Very enjoyable.
"Network" -- 9/10
I remember watching "Bulworth" back when it first came out and thinking that it was an interesting commentary on society and American politics. Now that I've seen "Network", I realize that "Bulworth" was a timid, safe rip-off of Sidney Lumet's 1976 movie. This film predicted the rise of "reality television", shock jocks, and the dangerous mixing of entertainment and news on tv. The only drawback I saw was the depiction of women: they were either power-hungry, corrupt, and amoral, or passive and traditional.
"Street Fight" -- 9/10
An amazing documentary following 32 year-old Cory Booker in his underdog campaign against longtime incumbent Sharpe James to become mayor of Newark, New Jersey. Booker represented all that is good about American democracy, and his opponent was one of the most corrupt and scary politicians I've seen in any U.S. political documentaries. The mayor had businesses closed down if they put a Cory Booker sign in their windows. Police officers were filmed destroying Booker signs. The Booker campaign office was broken into and important documents were stolen. James called Booker (both are African-American Democrats), among other things, a "f**got", a "Republican", a "carpet-bagger", and "a Black Jew". James had the endorsement of many in the local and national Party establishment, and he was joined by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton on the campaign trail. Even when Bill Clinton declined endorsing him, James sent out flyers implying that Clinton did endorse him. Even though both candidates had raised about $2 million, James told the media that Booker had raised $10 million and was trying to "buy" the election. Anyway, I highly recommend this documentary, especially when the current presidential campaign is going further into the gutter.
I saw 'The Dark Knight' recently.
I can't seem to make up my mind about it. I really need to see it again. However, what I can say now, is that the plot seemed to be a bit far-reaching.
During the entire movie, events were almost always propelled by the actions of the Joker. At the end, when the Joker is caught, one would naturally assume that the movie ends there.
But then, it actually ends with the demise of Dent, who is supposed to be the 'good man of justice' for all of Gotham. It's as if Nolan had to stretch to make the point of Batman being the 'Dark Knight'.
