Hello, again, after a long absence! Things seem to continue happening to keep me away from this site ... this last time was a computer crash a couple months ago but I'm back and hope to keep this place on my regular rounds.
I couldn't delete so i'm writing this
Hello, I'm new here. I'm a wanderer. I have a passion for english literature. :)
Hi, I am Xuefang. I am interested in English literature. Hope to share my opinion with each other in this forum.
Hi
I'm a student of English Studies and my major is American Literature and Culture.
Hi there,
I'm in high school and I am taking a Literature course through the summer. I was given a topic as an introduction to the class, I was wondering if I could get some ideas about the meaning behind the quote. I've heard this quote many times but never really thought of any other meaning to it. The quote is "No man is an island." by John Donne.
I think that no one man can make it on his own, but I hardly think it is 2 page essay worthy! I could be wrong in my thinking.
Anyway thanks in advance for your help.
Greetings, everyone.
I was looking for big English speaking literature forum and so I'm here. As you could notice, English is not my native language, and I hope I won't annoy anyone.
Hi everyone. My name is Chris and i live in Australia. I basically just wanted a forum where i can discuss literature and to see what others have to say about it.
Disregard the "Help." I figured out how to post without losing my post. :-)
Hi. My name is Sandra. What a fabulous website this is. I just discovered it today. I can't wait to go through it later his evening.
I am Producing Artistic Director for a theater in Manhattan that dedicates itself to the new American playwright. I have 30 interns working at the theater for the summer, 10 of whom are literary interns. They have written short plays and the interns are going to produce a short play festival from those plays.
I also have my own literary not-for-profit which was just formed: Merit Theater and Film Group.
Merit Theater and Film Group, Inc. is a Theater and Film organization that helps theatrical and film artists develop their craft and present their work through developmental activities, readings, and/or full productions. We foster and cultivate personal growth for script writers and other theatre and film artists, which we believe is essential for writing and producing complex, knowledgeable scripts. Such works benefit the local and global community by enhancing self-realization, supporting peace and social justice, and building respect for cultural expression and identity.
One of our projects is the New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest which is accepting scripts through July 31, 2009. (revised from June 30) The contest seeks socially conscious scripts from around the world that not only entertain, but also foster new awareness .
I am an avid animal lover. If anyone knows of any great books about animals, please let me know. Two favorites are: Merle's Door: Lessons from a Freethinking Dog by Ted Kerasote. It's a true story of an amazing dog. Best dog book I have ever read. ... Seabiscuit: An American Legend by Laura Hillenbrand. You will feel like you are on Seabiscuit, riding in the races that made him famous. Ms. Hillenbrand is a great writer. (The book is nothing like the movie.)
I hope to hear from you.
Hello Sandra, :) if you check the "Remember Me?" box when you log in, you should not get "timed out" that way if you're composing a long post. Welcome to LitNet!
hi, i am not nearly half as interesting as most of those who have already written about themselves. me life has mainly taken me away from my passion of literature, but i read enough to keep it within my life still. i love any kind of book from old classics, such as the illiad which i am currently reading, to modern sci fi and EVERYTHING in between. in books i look for the story that pulls emotion from me, and i have found a few that make me laugh and cry. and those i read over and over. thats all i can really think of ... bye
Hi
I'm Dark Angel(literally) and that's what I'd prefer... I was told by my friend Beautifull(sry if I got it wrong) about this site...
Hello everyone, this is Michael, brought here for the obvious reasons.
If you share any of my interests at some point of my posting life on here -I'm looking forward to having one, so be gentle-, feel free to interact!
Hi all - I thought I had posted to this but can't find it - duh! I'm a Creative Writing student, a poet, and I live in New Zealand. I read and write constantly; in fact I don't do much else - you would agree if you could see my house. Oh, I do make stained glass panels as well.
I'm on a sort of spiritual quest, as I think most writers are. And often take the wrong turning - but if I'm there it can't be wrong...I love to learn, and laugh, I enjoy good food and conversation, I drink - not always in moderation - and can be as silly or as serious as anyone else.
I think play is very important in creative work. I think too much, though.
Hope to run across you all while here.
