Welcome, Wendy-Lady, to LitNet!!
Good afternoon, everyone. I'm here to see what people are saying about stuff. As for introductions, I'm a student of English and literature. Perhaps a student of English Literature, but my head is being turned more and more to American writers--not to the exclusion of Russian and French and what-not writers, or the expatriates like Eliot and Pound and Joyce (three of my favorites.) Well, I read, and that's what I do--and I do other things, like work at a library and volunteer at another library. That's what I do.
Anyway, I will optimistically say that I look forward to having more questions than answers.
Hi Jean, welcome to the forum!
hey
this seems like an interesting site n i hope it will be able to help me gather some information on the Romantic movenent.
Hi dilshadhg, check this website out. It might help you. :D
Greetings all! Looking forward to exploring the forum and getting to know more about literature and you!
I was introduced to Yeats as a schoolboy and have loved his poetry ever since. I live in Dublin, the city where Yeats was born. This year we have a Yeats Exhibition in the city and I have already spent several hours engrossed in it. See details in www.nli.ie . The exhibition will go on for three years.I studied Latin at school and still read it a little. Also I really like Shakespeare. I was fortunate as a teenager to have a cousin who managed a hotel in Stratford on Avon and I saw many Shakespearean plays but it is his sonnets I really enjoy. Dublin has been an English-speaking city for 800 years and has a wonderful literary tradition.Seamus Heaney, another of our poets and like Yeats a Nobel prizewinner, lives here. I have a modest knowledge of Irish, the historical language of Ireland beyond the Pale-i.e. that part of the country outside a fence built around Dublin hundreds of years ago. Irish has some lovely poems too.

Well...I like books and theory...and elipses...and I'd like to reinvigorate the structuralist movement...also I'm a terrible speller...etymology is up there as well...I also like biology books...and elipses...
Hi, my name is Antonia Anthony.. i have recently just graduated from university.. i live in London, England by the way... i studied Criminology and i absolutely love to read. I love Classics and i must confess i do love the romance books as well but please dont judge me to harshly!! I love Shakespeare, not just because his plays and sonnets are amazing but what makes him amazing to me, is the way he uses words, he is amazing at wordplay.. but for all my reading i am an absolutely bad speller...so forgive me if i dont spell to well on. I play the violin.. i have been playing since i was 12 and i am 22 now. I love music.. my two favourite books are by Chinua Achebe.. "Things fall apart" and "The Arrow of God". He presents Old Africa in a way that forces your imagination to take you there, whether, you the reader, wishes to go or not. I love movies as well because, if done well, can be excellent visual books.I love movies which has witty and clever dialogue, like Guy Ritchie's "Snatch". I too get facinated by random stuff and i am full of random information.
Hi! Welcome to the forum!
im no one importaint and im a huge phantom fan!(surprise, surpirse)....um...so HI!!!!
 Hello MOR ;), welcome aboard!
I actually joined this site as a way to post my poems somewhere. I had them on MySpace, but they apparently have a waiver stating they can do whatever they want with anything posted there, and I don't like that. So, I posted some poetry on www.online-poetry.com, the poetry extension of the Literature Network.
Nice to meet you! Can't wait to see the works of the many incredible writers on this site!! ;) :D
Hi MOR and hashivenu! Welcome to the forum!
Hello people... I have just registered although I've been aware of this site's existence for quite a while; Only now I felt like being part of this community and joining in intellectual discussions you seem to have :D
I have graduated from high school an official literature nerd, a year ago, and now I'm hoping to get accepted into university to study English Language and Literature...
I consider myself a big fan of reading... and art in general. I enjoy reading anything at all from literature to philosophy to psychology... I've had the pleasure and privilege of studying 3 of Shakespeare's plays during high school, I think the man is a literary genius.
Anyway I don't want to bore anyone, so, just a quick intro and hello
=)
Welcome Melancolia. I hope we can make you feel rigt at home with us here. And I hope we can make you less melancholy and smiley! By the way, I like your avatar.
Hi melancolia, welcome to the forum! Nice signature plus nice avatar!
Thank you Virgil and Pensive for the warm welcome, I appreciate it =)
Hello! I am a new member from Bloomington, IN. I'm currently an undergrad @ IU and found this site while "working" at a local financial institution. Yeah, so "work" is a strong word, and I really don't do any save what I do in class. I read constantly, and am currently reading "Notes from the Underground" by F. Dostoyevsky, "Sea and Sardinia" by D.H. Lawrence, and a J. Swift collection of short stories. When I'm not at work or school or engrossed with one book or another, I spend time making good use of my Netflix subscription, making good use of the company of my girlfriend, playing racquetball, and when I'm free of time demands and constraints, I like to write and listen to music. Fresh endeavours this year include riding my bike to work and school in lieu of using my car, recycling paper, cans and bottles, cultivating a few lilies, and I will begin brewing beer this week.
Wow. I'm a pretty shy guy, and that's most I've written about myself...ever, so now its on to either the boards or those author bios: I love it!
What a GREAT avatar, I just had to find somewhere to yell that!!! Welcome and make yourself at home... are you from the UK? (just checking if I was able to guess ;))Quote:

Hi all
Nice to meet you all and look forward to posting with you.
Hello.
I have been posting here for a couple of weeks, and it has just occurred to me that I have not really introduced myself. I just got out of high school, having been elected by my peers to be awarded the "Unanimously Unique" award, from which you might reasonably surmise that I am the supreme nerd of the Class of 2006. I have been reading, and loving, a good deal of Henry James lately, for a "3x1" project (three novels by one author) for one of my senior English classes, and so have fashioned a username after His Awesomeness. I really like the discussions on this site, and have actually just discovered all of the PAM games (my mother's name, incidentally), which are all great fun. I look forward to many a happy post with you all!
Welcome, welcome! Nerd power!!
welcome to all new comers :)from miss tenderness..
Hi all!
This is all a little strange - I have signed up in a web forum for years and I've never been involved in one specifically for literary discussion so I'm quite excited.
I'm Hna, I'm 17 and live in England. I currently study English Literature, History and French and am intending to study History and Literature at Uni next year.
I look forward to posting with you all and seeing what you all have to say.
:D
