~hello~ my name is melissa and i'm in ninth grade. i dislike capital letters.
i like to read. my favorite writers are james joyce, henry david thoreau, voltaire, virgil, virginia woolf, fyodor dostoevsky, albert camus, kurt vonnegut, john milton, marcel proust, dante alighieri, hermann hesse, a.a. milne, arthur rimbaud, charles baudelaire, jules laforgue, paul verlaine, walt whitman, hart crane, ogden nash, e.e. cummings, william shakespeare, rainer maria rilke, anne sexton, etc. i really really strongly dislike jane austen, ayn rand and robert frost.
i also really like pierre-joseph proudhon, mikhail bakunin, johann most, emma goldman, alexander berkman, peter kropotkin, voltairine de cleyre, brian morris, noam chomsky, etc. i am a vegan and a pacifist and also really socially awkward. i live in florida though i would really rather not. i am not really that interesting beyond the novelty of my age? but if you want to know anything else about me feel free to ask. i also just realized that i tend to overuse certain words; i hope that doesn't bother anyone too much.
Hi, this is my first time ever on any forum. It may take a few times to get things right.
smoothchocolat
im new here, so dont be shy to say hi or send me a friend request. i love writing and im working on a scifi right now. :D
First time on this forum. This seems a great resource for literature. I am looking for some Latin American literature ofcourse translated in english. Hope to get it here.
I love reading. Not much in to writing. I think there is lot to be read why to add more? :p
Well guess what?
Yeah, I'm a newbie.
I inhabit that bit of rock at the edge of the Gulf Stream called England.
I am 37 Years old....but don't tell everyone please.
I have a very broad range reading spectrum and I read upto 5 different books a day. Each book being located in a different room of my home.
I even have a book in the WC....:lol::lol:
Downstairs I have the Life of Horatio Hornblower and a book by Douglas Reeman.
Upstairs I am reading The Rise and Fall of The Third Reich---which is one massive book--and the English Civil War.
I have been an avid reader since I retired 10 years ago and never seem to tire of new material. I constantly search local flee markets for books and made a great find 5 years ago when I was able to purchase all of Leo Kesslers short war stories at small cost.
I enjoy fiction or non fiction books relating to WW1 and WW2.
I even recently revisited my childhood when I chanced to find some original Ladybird early reading books, that brought back some memories for me I can tell you.
I enjoy reading in general and dependant on my mood enjoy books where I can actually visualise myself as being there in part with the story around me.
Well that is a slice of me.
Hello, hello!
I must say, I am quite excited to be here- it looks like a great forum.
I have chosen to go by the name Verity whilst here. It's one of my favorite words, and something I strive to reach, in a philosophical sense.
I am seventeen years old and currently reside in the lower portion of the U.S. of A.
My greatest love in life is reading. I love books, I love the stories they have to tell. It is so marvelous that through literature we have voices from the past. People come and people go, but what they write down is permanent. It's wonderful.
Due to all of the above, I have a slightly unhealthy obsession with that heaven known as Half Price Books. I visit that store way more than the average person should.
Currently I am rereading The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter. It's my summer project. I also hope to get through some psychology and philosophy texts.
Right. Well, outside of that, I love music (of all sorts), writing (though I must say I am not very good), nature, and movies.
I fear I've babbled on for much to long, so I shall end with that.
:yawnb:
Hiya everyone
So very glad to be here
Hi, I am a writer, and I am currently writing for the site named estapo in the grotesque section (should be listed in my details as the home site), it is going to be a multi functional portal, but currently they have started from my book.
I am a writer, and this is a story about a man, a psychopath, who believes that he can cure the world with the help of people if they will accept his pain as the instrument of cleansing and will let him pass it on to them.
In the book I'm giving a reader a new look at the world through the eyes of a psycho, a man, for who there are no standards of thinking and there is no other belief except his own pain.
Sincerely Yours,
Sevastian Wolfe
Hello everybody,
I am from Alessandria, a small town in the North-west of Italy. (I'm Italian :D) I'm about 24 and i'm attending the last year at the faculty of Philology and Arts. Mainly I study Russian language and literature, English language and literature, Polish and compared literature. I've been in Russia and Poland twice, and in England too, but unfortunately only in London... My favourites writers are: Bulgakov, Tolstoj, Dostoevskij, Doyle, Poe, Rowling and poets like Shakespeare, Wilde, Sepulveda, and many others.
I've joined this forum to speak about literature, and of course to imptove my (bad) English...
So very glad to be here
Ok, now I finished..
Hi everyone:  this is the first time I have ever posted in any kind of forum. I have read for years but the authors are King, Deaver, Child, Cussler. these appear to be WAY under what the norm is for here. Philosophy is beyond me and Shakespeare is interesting but hard to understand. I am attending college here and really enjoy it. Finally learning to put the words on paper and have them make sense. Take care...
Hi! "Rise and Fall of the Third Reich"- great book, huh? I read it when I was 15. It is truly fascinating. How is it over there?
My name is john seale and hope to continue my search for strange stories here.
