I'm Not There
Weird. Not sure I liked it, I almost turned it off a couple of times. I guess it captures Dylan's character but if you know something about the man you're not going to be surprised by anything that happens, maybe slightly amused by a few allusions. It's well filmed and acted.

Fantastic.
Lilja 4-ever - 9/10
Donnie Darko - 9/10
Two of my favourite movies now!
"In the Realms of the Unreal" 10/10
This was one of the most interesting and unique documentaries I've seen in quite a while. It tells the story of Henry Darger, a reclusive janitor who wrote a 15,000 page fantasy novel, a 6,000 page novel about a tornado, an autobiography, and who created hundreds of paintings. No one knew about his double life until his apartment was being cleared out after his death. The documentary lets his writings and paintings do most of the narration, shifting from his autobiography to scenes from his epic novel "The Story of the Vivian Girls".

The Long, Hot Summer
OMG, Paul Newman was unbelievably FINE. He had the most perfect body. And even past the Paul-drooling, the film was fantastic. I want to live in the country in the South.

Watched this movie couple of weeks ago (it was on TV on one of those insomniac nights) and loved it. Unfortunately, I missed the beginning. Would like to watch it again sometime.
Millions
Point blankly, it was stupid.
That Obscure Object Called Desire 3.5/4.0 - a bit boring
Atonement 3.0/4.0 - wasn't in the mood for this kind of movie, have to watch it again.

It was on TV for the 4th of July and I decided to watch it for the hundredth time. I have loved this film since I was a kid and it just keeps getting better! The nice surprise was that it was shown uncut. I have never seen it uncut. That included actual credits at the beginning of the film and the musical number "Cool, Cool Considerate Men", which was cut from the movie (unfortunately, it didn't include the second verse of "Piddle, Twiddle and Resolve", though :( ). I swear that with the extra song and the extra dialogue (there was a lot of that), it seemed like a brand new movie. Very interesting and fun to watch. :D
The Empire Strikes Back

Simply fantastic. Nothing else needs to be said about this movie. :thumbs_up
I Pronounce you Chuck and Larry 7/10
I loved it! it was so silly. It made me feel so gay (in all meanings of the word ;)
Disagree on this. I just watched Man on Fire this afternoon and the brutality was unrelentingly senseless, and not really tied into the plot very well. The kidnap of the girl was an inside job because the father's business deals were failing, okay, but the story line doesn't tie in very well with why federal Mexican agents needed to use a CIA black operative to bring down their own cartel-like criminals.
If I was supposed to be entertained by Washington's torture methodology and yet empathetic because of his proto-Catholic faith, through which the rescue of the girl redeemed his barbaric mercilessness, it didn't work. There was no rhyme or reason to the pile of corpses it was necessary to go through to carve out the implied corruption.
Traffic, with Michael Douglas, by contrast, provides viewers with reasons for the senselessness of the drug trade. Man on Fire was merely a vehicle for Washington to be so juiced that he was less person and more a dark horseman of the apocalypse.
"In the Valley of Elah" 10/10 Excellent movie, excellently acted. Tommy Lee Jones did a great job-doesn't he always? ~ and Charlize Theron did a good job, too.
It makes me think of a quote I found on this website: "They say 'He gave his life for his country,' Nobody gives their life for anything. We steal the lives of these kids. We take it away from them. They don't die for the honor and glory of their country. We kill them." ~ Admiral Gene Larocque
Get Smart

I thought it was funny. I liked it much more than I thought I would (I am considering the fact that it was based on the TV show - I like very few TV-based films). I liked it. :D
"Starting Out In the Evening" 7/10
Frank Langella did an excellent job in the lead role, but the movie seemed to drag in certain parts.
