I think its circumstancial. If there is a lecture/talking going on then yes. If you are just going about your work quietly and the music is at a level that isnt impacting others then I see no issue with it. Music is a stimulant on alot of levels.

I would. I haven't tried it though. Although I'd have to assess the danger first, if it only candle-hot, then yes. Bunsen burner, no.
