That's amazing. I like it, and I don't like much. It reminds me of my favorite comic book artist team.
Very impressive, welt!
That brings back a lot of memories seeing the distinctive playing area, Kyriakos. Well done on both counts
Cute Penguino Beautifull! I like :)
Excellent as ever Weltanschauung! :)
Put something up Max (that's an order!)
I've been working on a few things I've had to postpone due to academic obligations  but I'll finish and post them ASAP :)
Great work by all :)
I erased my warhammer set and used its remains to build this city which mostly resembles Toledo and it is medieval Spanish:

Kyriakos, once again, it's so cool. I love it!
Welt, it's awesome! I love how your pieces are always so colorful!
:D Thanks Max!
Thank you Mystyr!
Yes Max! I want to see more of your creative pieces!
Yes Bella - it's very bold like your avatar :)
Sorry Max - those gentlemen are very amusing, especially the flipping one
I like that Kyriakos - and now you've got me reinstalling Civ!
Now I know what a fan you all are of my abstractions, so here's a thing that's not as complicated to do as it might look:

It looks better in real life (I wish I could post a picture of how much better it looks in real life :o )
AWESOME, Mystyr! http://www.smileyshut.com/Respect/respect-067.gif
I'm on it! :)
I only wish I had done them myself :p
Mystyr: oooooo! Ahhhhhh! Prettty Colooors! Lots of colors! Great job! Even if you say it's not as hard as it looks. It's beautiful! REminds me of the beach and the park at the same time.
Very nice work, i always think (could be wrong though) that good abstract paintings depict the flow of human energy...
I made this germanic war camp:

And a freak circus tent, where one can recruit monsters and abominations for the heroic army :)
http://i.imgur.com/cznUW.png
Ohhhh! I want to go to the freak circus~! :p
I want to take a look at the abominations as well! :p
Thanks Bella - I thought you'd like it :) (beach parkbeach park) :)
Thanks Max :) (park beachpark beach) :)
Cool circus tents Kyriakos - they remind me of the bonus units that came with Civ II:
http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...yry/extras.jpg
And the fact that Bella and Max were talking about circus freaks
Thank you all :D
Yes i recall those civ2 units. Great times with that game :)
Here is the latest work, a couple of ancient Skandinavian forts, the larger one trying to be an Oppidum (which is celtic, but i couldnt think of anything else to model)

Here are two more sets:

Medieval Siamese:

Not scared away. They're like Persian miniatures Kyriakos, and look like they'd be great in play. I like the blowing flags in the one way above which I'm wondering if they can be used on an actual map?
I did this:

It's all so very nice!
It's all so much artistic!

I was looking through some random pages of this thread and...wow! You're all so talented! Painting (or any other kind of visual art actually) was always the thing I wished I could do. But alas, it was also the thing that I never had the hand for. All I ever did was doodling around with words, which always involved more scribbling than drawing... :leaving:
Failing to create images worth a sight, I drifted off more toward sounds... I wish there were any thread here for songs that are sung/played/composed by LitNetters. I'm amateur (in every sense of the word) but passionate about singing, and I wish I could hear others in here too. :)
I've been many times told that talent is more a matter of pushing than a matter of inborn abilities. I would like to believe there's some truth in that, because the opposite feels more painful.
And if you are doing music you can upload it on Youtube, and then post a link here. Revolte is one of the litnetters who is a musician and sometimes he has posted his Youtube links on this very thread. Go back a few pages and you will find his material :)
Awesome! I love it! http://a.deviantart.net/avatars/o/n/onioncleanplz.gif?1
Thankyou Beautifull Bella :)

Currently creating an ancient Chinese set:
Thanks Max :)
I finished it :D
http://i.imgur.com/pRRBQ.png
Mystyr: http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/wow.gif Wow! I like!
K: That ancient Chinese set is awesome!
That's so cool! I always wished I could play a guitar (never happened somehow). But I could only ever play my voice. I wrote a song once for a show and then lost it after the show was over. And writing another one didn't happen either, somehow. *Sigh*
So now I just sing songs that I like once in a while. Some of them I upload in youtube too, although without any music. But I think I might start another thread for sharing my songs and others', seeing that I almost missed your ones in here.
Thanks Max for pointing out Revolte's songs in this thread. I didnt think we had more than visual art in here. I always admired LitNet for its talented and warm members. Although I havent been as regular myself in sharing things, all you guys have kept me returning to LitNet to simply spend time with things you share, things I like...
Thanyou Beautifull Bella :)

I'm jealous mystyr. Your abstract art is awesome!
Hey Mystyr -- I really like your pen and ink abstract pieces. Kind of reminds me of what I *attempt* to do (and it's given me some ideas). A couple questions, though: Do you start with a pencil sketch, or just start with pen? How big are the ones you posted? How do you get your lines so smooth? Do you use a certain kind of pen? It seems no matter how slow I go, how careful, I always get bumpy-ish lines. I thought yours were done with a computer, also, just by how smooth they are. Your solid black areas seem so smooth too--you can't see any pen strokes or anything.
Thankyou again Bella Beautifull :) (You needn't be jealous: I need a holiday - I'm jealous of people who get to have holidays)
Thanks Mutatis. So many questions...
Let's see - No pencil sketch, just pen.
They're about 2 x 1 1/2' - 3 x 2' on medium paper (about twice as thick as photocopy)
Lines are smooth by being very relaxed and with a good pen - a free flowing fountain pen with quite broad tip, and the ink is just water based black Quink. The finished result photographed under as neutral light as possible (virtually impossible to get flat lighting unfortunately, which is why some of the edge lines are faded/broken or too heavy after the next step)
Then I load the black on grey photo into paint.net, turn the contrast up about full (not the brightness) til it's sheer black on white. (Airbrush out some of the grits that remain - which I neglected in the bottom left corner above)
Finally I reduce the size to the smallest reasonable that you can still perceive the detail, and then compress it 50% jpg (gifs look too clinical), and voila!
So: good pen, good paper, good music, relax (preferably all at once)
(Actually there is another step - my camera has a copy function which reduces text and line art to a close black and white high contrast, but it doesn't work completely)
