there is an interesting quote by a man named thomas szyzack - he was a psychiatrist, but now writes some anti-authoritarian literature, predominately anti-psychiatric. but he makes this claim 'that by the end of the 23rd century, medicine will be the greatest cause of human suffering' - very interesting and thought provoking. take that however you will.
