Ok, new random thought before I go, while vainly trying to respond to sub's quiz a while back (I forgot to copy and paste before I hit send and was bumped off), I was reminded of my Froggy Christmas CD (the most embarassing one I have). I put it on today for fun because it's rather cute, especially with the frogs singing Blue Christmas. My birds went crazy! They loved it! Now I feel I dug a hole, that I'll have to put that CD on every once in a while to make them happy. All I wanted was a mindless study break! :santasmil :p
Lets not let a little strife rip us apart yall, lets live like the forum family we are. ;)
i was wondering today how much we actually see when we're awake and our eyes are "open"? because of the blinking.
and all of a sudden - it was so cool :D - i looked around and everyone was blinking.
and i wanted to tell them all, and have them pay attention but i refrained. it was so hard!!! :p
ostracize: (coming from the Greek word ostrakon) to banish from a group, society, etc.
from Webster's New World Dictionary
"After 488 B.C., the Athenians began to make use of an instrument devised to protect the citizenry against overly ambitious politicians. Called ostracism, this practice enabled the members of the assembly to write on a broken pottery fragment (ostrakon) the name of the person they most disliked or considered most harmful to the polis. Frequently, this was a person whose policy, approved at first by the assembly, had failed. A person who received a majority (if at least six thousand votes were cast) was exiled for ten years, although the practical Athenians often recalled a man from exile if they needed him."
from Jackson J. Spielvogel's Western Civilization, Fifth Edition (volume A: to 1500)
At the moment, i'm wondering about what is the most effective way to wipe someone out of your memory..
If someone has hurt you or you dislike them enough to wish to erase them from your memory, it will actually be very difficult to do so. Simply because they affect you strongly and strong feelings and people who cause them are hard to ignore.Quote:

Kitkat, why cant i pm you?
Prepare an audio cassette saying how much you didn't like the person and that you should forget him/her. And listen to it at nights while you are asleep.Quote:

On the minus side: Tomorrow, at 18:00 is the scales prelim.
We have practiced and practiced and yet We have not yet managed to practice the inversions of the dominantseptaccords and diminished 7th septaccords.
Twelve of them. One of Us. Aaarghh :flare:
And We are so tired from all that flute practicing. We are feeling dizzy and so on.
On the plus side: We think We found an interesting and promising diatonic melody during the practice-break.
Tired.

random thought of my day:
i want to have a rest. i would like the world to stop for a moment (and everyone could have his/her rest also.. pretending that we are all stopped or 'paused')
bosses, then, would become more like normal human beings (lol, hope there are no many bosses round here :goof: ) and we could take care of our feelings for one short moment, dont worrying by trivial things like 'i have to correct these exams, or i have to write the analysis for the customer..'
then, current life will go on as was going to.
i want this 'secret pause' for my life, lol
funny, i make the world stop for me ;)... many people i know get carried away with stress and anxiety (soemtimes me too but never stress) and i simply tell them, sit down with a book... one that you can't put down, fantasy or feel good... something that takes you out of this world... the most recent book that did that for me was "the Fairy Godmother" by Merceded LAckey.... got in the airport, they usually have science fiction of fantasy
I would like to live in a world like that reboot tv show, too funny.
i read a story once about this man who could make the world stop for afew minutes..and the resullt is tottaly chaos..it's horrible..forgot the story, a scific story from 100 years of science fiction.Quote:

hey Jester, i will try reading the Fairy Godmother :) (the problem is that i have not really much time.. working now a lot of hours/day in order to be able to buy a flat :( that's why i would like to stop the world for some minutes or hours, to do things that i really want to do :)
anyway.. my random thought of today:
dont you think that being the dancing banana  would be much stressing and tired? dancing all the day.. without being able to stop!! :eek2: that reminds me of a tale i read when i was a child.. yes.. a girl with non-stop-dancing-red-shoes lol, have you ever heard about that tale?
Hey, the banana DOES stop dancing... if you're on the forums long enough ;), I think it doesn't dance in an infinite loop but more like... you know, several thousand times ;)
I'm a pretty easy going guy. I like people. I'd like to consider myself fun-loving; a nice dude to be around.
But when I get some breakfast at the cafeteria, and I am enjoying my food, is it really necessary to walk into my cubicle to ask what I am having, while you lean over my shoulder and smell what I am eating?
…Like you've never seen or smelt a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich before.
C'mon people. Have some manners. It's just not polite.
This happens to me quite frequently. Next time it does occur, I am going to start barking. Rabid-like. Ferociously. I am going to crouch in a fetal position on my chair, with my sandwich in hand and egg yolk running down my chin. And I am going to bark and snap at anyone who comes close.
And the people around my office will begin to call me Cro-Magnon Man! And I will be satisfied.
Have you tried the ole: "so whatcha eating" "uncle mark, want some??"
Works for me.
Maybe you should just get non-smelling bland oatmeal. :sick:Quote:

hooo....boy!! I LOVE the dancing bananas and fervently wish they never stop. I mean, what could be less stressful than a couple of dancing bananas?Quote:

oh, how about talking to them with your mouth full!!!!! A chick at work used to do that all the time and i avoided her like the plaque especially around lunch time.
my dad got me this stress ball from veneuzuala and it popped open and white podery stuff came out  all over my jeans, and that was my last pair of jeans so i had to wash my jeans (walking around in knit work out pants and its snowing out, and these too tight around butt) but i need socks, this morning i had none so i dug through the hamper to find soem, but with no quarters left i cant wash whites, very very annoying.... must eat dinner and bring back quarters, must wiat and hour for pants to dry... arrrgh....
I forgot, but it's one of the short story in this anthology of scific called 100 Years of Science Ficition, edited by Damon Knight. It also includes stories from Rudyard Kippling and HG WellsQuote:
