Hello everybody,
I hope you’re all doing well.
I live in Brazil and I’m a graduate student in Arts. I came here by chance, and what a happy chance it was, because one of the topics here led me to the amazing novel I’m reading now (“The blind Owl” by Sadegh Hedayat) .
I’m a fan of medieval literature (though by no means an erudite on the matter), as well of the Romantic and Symbolist movements.
Nice to meet all of you!

Greetings to all voracious readers,
First, thank you to the project creators and managers for making this site and providing an opportunity to discuss the power of literature with people across the world..
I am a recent high school graduate and intending to do a bachelor of biomedical science or psychology. Having a great extent of interest in the human brain/mind, become a neuroscientist, neuropsychologist or anything along the line would be the greatest accomplishment for me yet.
Back to literature, I am looking forwards to the a great experience of connecting with serious readers, sharing invaluable insights and ideas that most people may miss in a timeless novel.

My name is Seow It Sze. I always wanted to be a writer but work took me away for more than 50 years. Yes I am quite old. I have however kept up a lively interest in Literature but again most of it was read in my youth. I have read Homer, Goethe, Charles Dickens and Russian writers, my favorite Leo Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. I tell you that my worldview underwent a change when I read The Brothers Karamozov. I was also influenced by the Bible and the Qur'an. I became a Muslim in mid life and Tolstoy's Haji Murad rang deep bells in my soul.

I've never used a forum before, and I don't ordinarily like talking to people, but this seems like a place in which I can meet ones worth meeting. I started out reading out of a need for peers. I found the interests of everyone around me idiotic and childish, and Sartre was the first person I found I was capable of identifying with. My current tastes include, among Sartre, Witkacy, Kafka, Beckett, Genet, Hesse, Pessoa, Kiekegaard and just recently Dostoevsky. I've read only little bits of Tolstoy, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, J. K. Huysmans and Eugene Ionesco, but I enjoy them as well.
