its peak 'midst tempestuousness as the

thin is the veil that leads to introspection:

don a warrior's armor to see it through
for an ending is near: death and rebirth -

Where ethereal beings not yet quickened roam
who muse wistfully in the catacombs
within its borders whose topography
allows leaves to rustle in amidst cacography
and glyphs of artful graffiti that appear at entrances
where the bold few intrude with askance glances
some for a lark whose games take chances
of encountering bogeys and joining their dances
some who attempt daring trysts for romances
some rebuffed but few rejecting ardent advances
the living rarely venture in far from its periphery
where one can hear the seashore and the kittiwake
but those who do chance becoming inventory
the very thought makes me inescapably quake

All Hallow's Eve

What are these mysterious noises?
The hollow laughters?
The fluttering of bat's wings?

The picture sharpens:
Apparitions looking disdainfully askance
haunt the sleeping mortals,
while ugly witches preside
over their ominously boiling cauldrons

With the first light of morning,
the spook is gone.
A soft falling dew.
prepares the earth
for the footprints
of angels and fairies.

The Seelie Court

The whisperings of the willow called
entranced I sleepily left my nook and
comfort knowing not what would betide
daylight was failing, soon all was veiled
a new moon peeping through the mist
gave me courage against the will-o-wisp
dancing as if to a gigue just before me
when I chanced upon a Seelie Court and
light blazed upon the faces of the sylphs
as if high noon once again, the forest
echoing with their haunting song of lament
for one come among them recently dead
and I stayed and listened till I fade away

of the spiral Milky Way galaxy
journeys an oblate blue charm

revolves around a jaundiced sun
150 kilometers away
at first glance appears moribund

yet teems with spirited life
albeit more and more endangered
on the cusp, on the edge of a knife

for the eyes are the windows
of the soul and on closer inspection
endless Pyrrhic victories are exposed

the self-appointed stewards
have abrogated their responsibilities
- the ones reaping all the rewards

it is not strange that
appearances can be deceiving -
a higher intelligence is grieving

having formed the newborn orb
in its pristine state in eons past
full of peace and promise, now lost

there is a sacred pool
and fluctuating on it
a magical lotus flower .
Two swans, one black

defy each other

A sundial marked the path
pointed the way
through a labyrinth -
a journey littered with
blossoms from delightsome
Yoshino cherry trees

a flutter of butterflies
cheered me on through
hedges of manicured privets
... ahead before me a display
of fantastic statuary works
and ornamental fountains in

a landscape of lime trees,
oaks, and endless roses
settled amongst bird song,
baby's tears, and lady ferns

Enjoyed this walk through an English garden.
Unrequited cherries doesn't make so much sense, I would use unrequited with certain feelings as unrequited love, meaning a love that's not corresponded. How does that apply to the cherries? I would change the adjective : unexpected, undesired, etc.

The Crucible

Well, I was looking
for a vacancy in
The Crucible,
the famous beehive
and dream of
every young
aspiring girl..
Oh the enchantment
of its numerous
cells of honey,
its comfy
waxen rooms,
the friendly hum
of working people,
and the surety
of belonging
to the best
honey factory ever.
Would I pass the test?

a maiden in færieland

An astrophysical gnome gazed into the heavens one day
and observed a meteor on course to hit near home to his dismay

by dawn even with the use of the unaided eye the meteor came into view
and færieland's tides became affected in the big blue

its size perturbed (just slightly) even færieland's orbit
and each and everyone thought that the meteor would hit

but one enterprising færie maiden took matters into her own hands
and started an incantation in the lush meadowlands

with her færie wand extended seeking to avoid the tragic
and lo! a dystopian age was averted by the use of færie magic

breathless,

The Hollow Needle

In France
at the shores of a stormy sea,
there stands a venerable rock.
It´s steep and slim
a contrast to the broadsided pyramids it evokes,
but like the Egyptian mausoleum
it contains possessions
belonging to generations of kings and queens.
May the sorcerer delve in his books,
or the detectives consult their maps.
May floods of tourist visit the magic site...
the royal treasure of Château de l'Aiguille
will remain hidden from human greed
for ever and a day.
