A sad and (Je ne sais quoi)/surreal? poem. "Make no mistake: our kids are hiding / from Death, who long has prowled these halls." Interesting, albeit strange, images. Enjoyed :)

I don't see it as surreal, tailor. I understood they are children with severe illnesses"in this wing for injured brains and struggling lungs" who are dressed up for a Halloween Parade as a way of bringing a bit of fun to them.I think, there is a combination of the mock horror of the parade and the real horror of the illnesses.We have that in some hospitals of Brazil.
