Much enjoyed your poem. Just a curiosity: are (critical) poems allowed on the ballots in US?
Anyway relieved with Sunday results, counting the days to January 1st, 2023.

The Princess
Here am I
in my winter coat
conspicuously
in the middle of the place.
Dogs surround me,
big, small, black, white, caramel.
They bark at each other
(but not at me);
They sniff each other
(but not me);
They jump at each other
(but not at me);
They run with each other
(but not with me);
They play with each other)
(but not with me).
A human hand
reaches out for me
caresses me
fleetingly.
"Sorry, dear, no time now!
I have to run
to attract the attention

“In Cleveland, it is illegal to catch mice without a hunting license.” - perhaps if we just unbelled the cat and reveled in the silence ?
“In Columbus, it is illegal for stores to sell Corn Flakes on Sunday”. - no problem here, for me the Sabbath is no cliché.
“In North Canton, It's illegal to roller skate without notifying the police.” - I believe (but could be wrong) 'twas the same in Rome of bygones past and also in the Acropolis of ancient Greece.
“In Fairview Park, it is illegal to honk your horn "excessively." - so honk if you love Jesus… but do so reverently.
“In Toledo, It's illegal to throw a snake at anybody.” - I can see the wisdom in this, though I find it to be hillari-hisssssy.
“In Canton, electric fences are banned.” - must make it easy to prey on chickens in their coops, but at least it makes for better reception for the brood's broadband.
“In Canton, it is a misdemeanor to play any game in a public park without the Superintendent’s permission.” - seems he once was losing a game when he was a young one and took his ball home in a fit of conniption.
“In Lima, any map that does not have Lima clearly stated on the map cannot be sold.” - but what would you expect of a city named after a bean (or so I'm told).
“In Oxford, it is illegal to drive around the town square more than 100 times in a single session.” - I guess cruising is a lost art there bordering on obsession.
"It is also illegal to spit on the sidewalks of the square in Oxford." - seems they couldn't afford enough spittoon cleaners which made avoiding loogies awkward.
"In Youngstown, riding on the roof of a taxi cab is not allowed." - what with the law of inertia and all, Physics ! for crying out loud.
"In McDonald, your duck may not parade down Ohio Avenue." - while not exactly the whole tale it was meant for animals not to run at large, turning the village proper into a zoo.
“In the state of Ohio, it is illegal to kill a housefly within 160 feet of a church without a license.” - "O-H !"... what would we do without your guidance !
