How can a person consider themselves be the smartest among a bunch of idiots? As a matter of fact the superlative doesn't`t fit in anywhere in this situation even though it usually depends on ones surrounding, if they still do outshine others in their group it would be delusional to consider them the smartest of the lot.
The odd thing here is not the presence of a few smart aleck in an intellectually low group/community but the gap, as claimed, between being the smartest fish and those who tether their intellect at the lowest ebb of their understanding.
