heady lilacs lined the baby tears' path
of an impromptu wanderlust -
blossoms not yet turned to rust
their heavenly fragrance hath

a færie magic wholly ensorcelled
me and I danced with unbounded joy
so much as to the sun's utter annoy-
ment; dark clouds soon dispelled

my pleasant mood with plentiful drops
of sylvan rain - thus soaked.
I espied a wee cottage cloaked
within a privet's verdant copse

after rounding a corner and knocked
upon its door... shortly a sleepy eyed
tawny frogmouth in bedclothes did guide
me to a modest low chamber stocked

with a repast provisioned for a lord
and I ate ravenously for who knew
what the morrow would bring hitherto
then slept within a dream secured -

I dreamt of færie lords surrounding
me in a dell after dismounting their
dragonflies, their lances laid bare
of malice I pondered upon this astounding

turn of events, I, a lone traveler within
a dream no less my courage did take
and faced the princes and kings and spake,
as to equals, what their purpose was herein

laughter lifted and filled the færie dell -
I was amazed at their glad countenances
for such are poems written of - of chances
when the lost are found - who can foretell ?

I lost a coin
Just a simple small coin

which made the cucumber sandwiches key,
garnished with banana which I thought a culinary victory -
though master badger, an ancient sort, did disagree
in confidence to Marigold the bower maiden in repartee

I balanced my platter upon my knee
opposite my golden snickersnee
and we sipped our dandelion/bardana tea with glee
as we chit chatted, most handily,
about this and that to such a degree
that the beeswax candles were laid waste upon the settee
whilst the man in the moon smiled down upon us through a window-sea

and all the problems of the world were solved to a vast degree
for few are the things in this fantasy

Seems you are selectively banned: Littnet doesn´t mind you writing in prose, neither you posting poems in certain threads, If you post nonsense poems in the lol thread it might be a solution, but you might get banned. When you have leisure and internet enough maybe you could try to post a nonsense poem on some old Litnet thread no one writes on anymore. If it works , it may become the new nonsense thread.

The Power of Music
A choir sang on a lofty landscape.
Suddenly someone cried out:
"There are snakes lots of them
tumbling down the rocks."

Quickly the snakes organized themselves
in a bunch
for listening to the music.

Scenario

What can one do with a moat, a wizard, a changeling, a raven and a piccolo?
I will have to employ the service of the wizard,
to put a moat around a water castle, like the fortified ones
of Münster.
The changeling might be more difficult,
if the wizard himself weren´t one,
left as a child in said castle, with
the moat about it.
To find a raven is no problem,
if he agrees to be installed on the top of the castle, with
the moat about it.
Out of nowhere a youngster, full of
wanderlust ( but that´s from another list)
takes out his piccolo and starts to play.
Behold my emotion at seeing
the complete picture.

Now the story can begin.

Controversial theme for me, took me some time.

I dream of a day
when my country will be
truly independent:
free of corruption,
of mismanagement,
of poverty, homelessness,illiteracy,
free from its colonial inheritance
free from debts
free from looking up at richer countries
free from its "street dog" complex
which celebrates the foreign but
despises all that is national
(excepting football and carnival).


If that day arrives,
one can allow for fireworks,
for inviting festoons
for inumerous little flags
in green, yellow and blue.
People will echange gifts.
The children will dance round D. Pedros statue,
who, awoken to life
will once more
rise his sword and proclaim:
"Independence or death".
