Great Gatsby Review

Well i have to do a paper and my teacher wants me to includes quotes, and adjectives from the book with page numbers to describe three characters from the book. I choose to write about Nick, Gatsby and Tom. Tom and Gatsby I can do just fine, but with Nick it's a little bit harder than that. I need to start with adjectives and Nick of course isn't going to say much about himself but I know he does. I seem to be missing it. My question is where in the book will I find something where Nick is describing himself?

NICK IS:
a) LONELY. He seems to live through Gatsby's emotions at parts, for example when Gatby and Daisy meet in Chapter five, Nick notes that he is "Aware of the loud beating of my own heart" (pg 93 in my book! which is penguin popular classics...). ALSO,after noticing that "unlike Gatsby and Tom Buchanan, i had no girl" he feigns emotion for Jordan and describes how he "drew her up again closer, this time to my face" (pg 87, C4) to escape being alone.
b) HYPOCRITICAL. at the end of Chapter 3, he states "I am one of the few honest people that i have ever known". You could just take this literally and use HONEST as an adjective, but i think this is immensley hypocritical of Nick, who is drawn in by the charisma of Gatsby and appears to condone his affair with Daisy, therefore making him dishonest, and means he is lying to himself.

For all the people who are saying it's a bad book because it's about the 1920's are making a stupid point- they may not have enjoyed it because they didn't like the historical period but that doesn't mean it's a bad book.

Of course not, this book is regarded as one of the best english novels in history and unless you are unveiling the full meanings in this book, do not ever comment that this book is "bad".
