Welcome to:
Belle Ringer--It's quite true, quiquid latine dictum sit altum videtur. Are you a classics major, or just a latin lover? :brow:
Aolist--Hope you're enjoying Portrait. I'd be willing to join in a discussion if you started one up in the Joyce section.
Lucky Dove--I'm glad you like Jane Eyre. It must be a nice break from your scientific pursuits.
Enkidu--(great screen name)Glad you've decided to come romp with us in the playground of the mind. ;)
Word Wizard--The beauty of the internet is that we can carry on conversations even if you're sleeping the entire time I'm awake and vice versa. ;)
And welcome to any newbies I've missed.
Hey! you''l probably see me on here alot asking for help on literature coursework!!
Welcome Night Stalker (scary name! ;) ). I hope you like it here. I'm sure you will. But don't expect us to do your homework. If you have specific questions, I'm sure we can help.
Yep, Night Stalker, welcome here but don't think that we will be always able to do your homework. Happy posting!

Then again, maybe it is just that del vario stile in ch'io piango et ragiono fra le vane speranze e 'l van dolore, ove sia chi per prova intenda amore, spero trovar pietà, nonché perdono.
Oh, and THANK YOU for the nice welcome.
Oh, I wish I could understand latin. One of my true desires. Belle, could you possibly translate that and the motto under your name?
Hello everyone,
I just discovered this site today, and I registered right away. I am 2nd year student and English major. I am planning on going to law school and become an attorney, a childhood dream. Why an English major then? Even I don't known,:( maybe cuz I love to read. I can't really pick a favorite writer cuz I have a long list, but I love works of Jane Austin and Oscar Wilde. I have read "Pride and Prejudice" so many times, and I love Wilde's "The Picture of Dorian Grey." I also like to read Nicolas Sparks' novels.
Other hobbies besides reading are writing, drawing, not that I can actually draw, and watching Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill. :)
For now, thats all. :)
Hi everybody!! I like to read, and write, and draw. That's about it, see ya!

Welcome all  :
Coffee Adict--No need to explain "why an English major" here. The better question is why not? ;)
Pan_is_dead--Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here.
rks_poet--Well, hopefully you'll learn something from us, and we'll learn something from you. Anything in particular you think "worth knowing?"
