I started to read it about 18 years ago and I must have stopped during the treatise on the Steppenwolf within it because I couldn't remember anymore about it. I'm currently re-reading it, and it is interesting to reflect on, and how it was held up as a cultural icon. I certainly find it clearer than the first time round.
