cool - thanks
heard the song with the line "keep me in your heart for a while" the other day and thought, "Why don't I own this album?"

Soundtrack To Your Escape - In Flames
I don't normally listen to whole albums, because usually I only like about 25% of the songs and the rest I find terrible. The only awesome exception is Green Day:
I love dookie, American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown. Dookie has the best individual songs, but also some that aren't that great. American idiot has only songs I love, but it was kinda killed by overplaying. Only now I can slowly get back to it and appreciate it again. 21st century breakdown is longest, and I love all but two songs of it.
I guess if the cover art counts too, then dookie wins, followed by the others, tied.
My top 5(/6):
Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan
Exile on Main Street by the Rolling Stones
London Calling by the Clash
The Velvet Underground & Nico by the Velvet Underground (and Nico)
Tie between Electric Ladyland by the Jimi Hendrix Experience and Excitable Boy by Warren Zevon

Genesis: The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

It's a tie between Radiohead's OK Computer and Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon.
Quadrophenia, the Who.
My favorite album is Air's Moon Safari. I have it since it was released in 1998 and just recently I read that Madonna and filmmaker Sofia Coppola are fans of the album too.
A Silver Mt. Zion - He has left us but shafts of light sometimes grace the corners of our rooms
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F# A# (Infinity)
Mt. Eerie - Parts 6&7
The Notwist - The Devil You and Me
Mogwai - Come On, Die Young
have the most plays on my iTunes program, so im guessing one of those would be my favorite if any
Dark Side Of The Moon-Pink Floyd
My favourite albums are:
Bjork:
- Vespertine
- Post
- Homogenic
- Debut
though to be fair, I pretty much love all of Bjork's albums. She's kookie, cool and original.
Radiohead:
- OK Computer
Kate Bush:
- The Hounds of Love
Keane:
- Hopes and Fears
Goldfrapp:
- Seventh Tree
Rufus Wainwright:
- Release the Stars
- Want One
- Want Two
Coldplay:
- Viva la Vida
Sigur Ros:
- Takk
Air:
- Talkie Walkie
I love that album too, although if compilation albums counted, The Whole Story is practically the perfect Kate Bush album. If compilations don't count for Kate Bush it has to be between The Kick and The Hounds of Love, it's a tough choice though. I think I lean more towards The Kick.
Anyway, as my overall favourite album, probably David Bowie's Low.
(Edit: Bjork is solid too, but I get why she doesn't do it for many people)
Jethro Tull Aqualung
hmmm...funny I've never consider this, I always listen to a single track of one album and then jump to another...but I guess the real album i've listen to over and over one summer after the release would be: Never Gone by Backstreet Boys:D
Blood on the Tracks (NY Sessions).
J
Umm it's hard to say but my favorite albums right now are
Nico - The marble Index
Joy Division - Closer (probably my favorite album)
Air - Moon Safari
As of this day, 08/19/2011 my favorite albums are:
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Frank Black - Teenager of the Year
Pixies - Bassanova
Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
If I come back in 2 years, will the Wall still be there? It seems like I listened to it, and listened to it, and then had to stop because I was afraid I would ruin it for myself.
Load/ReLoad - Metallica
Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
amongst many others...
also can I contribute to the conversation above that the popularity of an album should never be a sway in either direction on the greatness spectrum.
I can't imagine ever wearing myself out on these albums. They're so many more but I'll stop with these.
Echoes - The Rapture
Aqeumeni - Outkast
Conversions - Kruder and Dorfmeister
The White Album - The Beatles
The Miseducation of Lauren Hill - Lauren Hill
Nevermind - Nirvana
Prodigy - The Fat of the Land
Purple Rain - Prince
Hey, we agree on something pertained to music, Mark! Though, I must admit that I enjoy watching her, sort of like a car-wreck.
She has some of the greatest music videos ever made though, working with directors like Michel Gondry and John Kricfalusi (of Ren and Stimpy fame).

Just because it's late and I feel like sticking something out there more subjective than the closely-argued logic I've been working on for the past ten hours...
Julie Is Her Name - Julie London
Abbey Road - The Beatles (if I must pick only one)
Rain Dogs - Tom Waits
Citizen - Steely Dan (bit of a cheat, as it's a sixty-three album set)
Costello Music - The Fratellis
That Arctic Monkeys album with 'Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secure' on it
Probably the first Tom Petty album
This Year's Model - Elvis Costello
A compilation of Alice Cooper's original band, put together by me
Steve McQueen - Prefab Sprout (renamed Two Wheels Good for the US market)
45s and Under - Squeeze
Ram - Paul McCartney
On another night, about half of those would be different.
But if I really, really had to go for just one...man...
I'd like to say Abbey Road, but I know every note of it. Pushed, I'd have to take a mid-period Steely Dan album, simply because there's a lot left in there to find.
