I never exactly 'crush' too easily, particularly on appearance alone, but the piercing eyes and awe-struck lips of Claire Forlani. Though not often the blonde-obsessed-kinda-guy, the unique look of Gwyneth Paltrow has also always attracted me. :D

Virgil, we've been over this before: nope he's not a bald ugly old man.
hehe, I've had a crush on him ever since I was 13... in fact, when I was 13 I wanted to marry him and was terribly jealous when I found out he was married at the time....
well,... I'd never stalk him or scream "I love you" or nonsense like that though... actually, I've managed to watch him at the thatre TWICE  and haven't assaulted him so far :D
plus, I mainly like him as an actor and of course also for his looks and aura but I don't really care about what kind of person he is in reality...
I mean, he must be one of the nicest and most huggable people in the world, but I dunno if I'd like to meet him if I could..... erhem, I believe I've made things clear :)
other candiadates:
Alan Rickman
Leonard Nimoy
I'm sorry, Shalot, but Hayden Christiansen, in my opinion, can act only about as well as George Lucas can direct.
Hayden Christiansen? Is he the brat who plays Anakin as a grown-up?
I didn't realize he can act at all. you live an learn :) thanks Robin :)
aaaargh, Virgil, I will never talk to you again!:flare:
poor Patrick.. just imagine setting him up with an old hag like this 'lady'.. *puke*
of course they're in the same age bracket in terms of years but if you stopped to compare their looks...
and besides, good-looking men are like quality cheeses.. the older they get the more they stink... er, oops, wrong metaphor.. well you know what I mean.
has anyone ever noticed how old women tend to look 20 years older than old men who are exactly the same age? (except some actresses of course).
it's really unfair.. in 20 years (when I'm 45) I'll look like 90 and my husband will still look 40 when he's 80...
I tell you, she makes a perfect couple with Magneto:

sorry to disappoint you, Pensy, but Ian McKellen is gay. I don't know about Magneto, though:)
Just watched "Throw Mama from the Train" last night for the first time. Funny you should bring that up, Virgil! :)
hehe, I know you're teasing my, Virg :)
oh, speaking of old men, let's not forget Anthony Hopkins, another one of my top fave best-looking actors alive (if only barely so ;) )
ok, I can understand that not every girl fancies those old blokes..
but could someone explain what it is about Johnny Depp? I think he looks spooky and his voice isn't very interesting, either, although I'm willing to admit he's a good actor...
Sure looks like the lady from The Goonies. I don't mean to be cruel, but...is that a post-train tossing picture?
Hayden Christensen doesn't impress me as an actor, although he seemed maybe half-decent in Life as a House. I therefore primarily attribute the comparatively poor quality of the story/acting in the prequel trilogy to George Lucas' writing.
I think he's a very distinquished looking man. I'm more of a Kirk woman myself but I do agree Patrick Stewart has a certain magnetism.
Even if he's gay, she can still admire, she just can't hope to live out her fantasies.;) Craig Parker, the guy who played Haldir is also gay but that doesn't stop insane amounts of women from drooling over him. He's never done anything for me but I think that's more because of the fact that I hated the character of Haldir.
And I think that's the proper place to lay blame. ;)
Jennifer Connelly? I had thought it was Carrie-Anne Moss. Shows what I know.
Well, for myself, I'm afraid I've a bit of a list.
Here is, quite possibly the most beautiful woman ever to exist: Anna Netrebko.

And here we have another growing infatuation of mine: Regina Spektor.

Oh yes, and we cannot overlook the mysterious and intriguing Uma Thurman.

And, perhaps my most favoritist of all: Helena Bonham Carter.

seen here being cool (I do confess, I just might accept a cigarette, were it offered by her.)

Yeah, the acting in the Star Wars movies is kind of embarrassing isn't it? Or maybe it isn't the acting so much as the dialogue, especially the scenes with Natalie Portman. But what you can you do with lines like those? But I did see Life as a House and I thought he did a great job. He was decent in Shattered Glass also and I am waiting to see Awake.
For some reason, I think the guy is hot and it doesn't have much to do with his acting ability, the same way men think Britney Spears is hot (or used to before she got that white trash makeover). I don't think their opinion has anything to do with her singing ability.
Craig Parker is gay!!!?? Aww!! I'm so disappointed. I had no idea.
I think he's handsome. And the reason even more girls are obsessed with him now is because of Captain Jack Sparrow! Even more irresistible...

You see I dont get that at all when I went to my latest school it was sept 2003 and everyone was Bloom or Depp? Its an all girls school and this argument coyuld go on in the common room for days.
But frankly I didnt like either in the first 15 minutes of the film I was actually worried that kira knightly would end up with Jack sparrow because he was just so dirty  but then he smiled and you know what I was worried anymore because a disney hero never has bad teeth.
Didnt like bloom either . :D
Agreed, Shalot -- to be honest (and a little mean), I'm surprised George Lucas can hold conversations. The man is a visionary, and we in the geek community owe him a great deal, but his ability to write dialogue is sadly limited.
hehe, yeah, when I was around 15 the girls at my school were the same, only it was Depp vs some other guy, Brad Pitt or someone.
i think it's mainly mass hysteria, like a couple of girls start swooning over Depp etc so all the others have to go along to prove they're not gay or geeky or something.
I liked bloom as Legolas and I'm sure he's a great actor but I don't think he's cute when he's not wearing his Legolas make-up. same goes for the other Elf guy Idril fancies. I think he looks great as an Elf but not as a human.
Ok... mine... first crush was Paul Gross when he was playing the Fraser in Due South, also like Pierce Brosnan, Viggo Mortensen, Ewan McGregor and... Christopher Dean :ladysman:
I definitely agree with that, even Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor come off as stiff and uncomfortable and that's quite a feat, making actors of that calibur look bad so Hayden doesn't stand a chance.
Yes, he is but that doesn't mean you can't still drool a little bit, I don't think he minds.;)
He's not an elf, he's a Man! :D You can tell because he doesn't look like a man in drag like most of the elves in Jackson's movies. It took me some time to adjust to Harry Sinclair as a person and not as Isildur but I've come to fancy him in that incarnation as well, it just took a little longer.
oops, sorry i meant vintage's Elf guy :) sorry i got you two mixed up :) too many LotR fans in here. hehe, I know Isildur is human :)
about Depp: of course I meant it's mass hysteria with most girls except vintage :)
I mean the girls at my school didn't know the first thing about acting and didn't care either they only liked those actors because they fancied them. it's different if you think he's a good actor and fancy him on top of that... :)
hehe, I'm getting way to heated up about this :) I'd better read a good book and take a break from General Chat :)
I loved Jennifer Connelly in Labyrinth. She was such a beautiful girl in that movie and now she's a stunning woman...but she'll always be Sarah to me. :)
My heart went pitter patter for Naomi Watts in We Don't Live Here Anymore.
When I was younger Carole Lindley--to Patty Duke--to Faye Dunaway--many flirtations thereafter then finally settling on Nicole Kidman while seeing Stephanie Zimbalist on the side. The weird (to me) part is I like VERY few of Nicole's movies and have certainly NOT seen them all. It's her eyes--they seem to look right thru you. Which is why Job says I have made a covenant with my eyes why should I look upon a maid?
It might be weird but I have never had any crush on somebody I don't know personally. I mean, there are actors, singrers etc that I like but that's it. Sth's wrong with me  ?
Ofcourse nothing is wrong with you, don't look to others to see if you are up the norm, expect others to uphold the norms you set.
I'm quite positive Sleepy has already mentioned Patrick Stewart, so I'm just adding my admiration for him to the pot, otherwise I've thought that Christopher Walken was something else ever since the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, Sarah Plain and Tall. Other contenders for my fancy include, Colin Firth, and Joaquim Phoenix for some reason I can't put my finger on, maybe it's his imperfect perfection. I used to love Bill Pullman but I've forgotten about him in the last few years.
:D am I that predictable?Quote:

How about his late brother, River?
I always think he was cuter than Joaquin ;)
River was more of a pretty boy, Joaquin has more of an edge. ;)
