The toughest one will be mine. :D
1. I was born in Delhi, although it is not my native place.
2. I have donated blood 6 times till date.
3. I have more than one siblings.
So the lie is.........
Maybe, the second one is a lie?
I'll wait for more replies. Keep guessing!!!!
I'm thinking it is number one, but I must admit it is nothing more than a guess.
The truth about the lie shall be revealed after a few more guesses. :D
So, it must be the last.
I say the second one -- I suspect possibly more than six.
Okay, let me reveal the truth now :D
First one is true, I was born in Delhi and still live here.
Second one is a lie, I have never donated blood, the number part was just to confuse. :D I did visit the blood bank, but they refused saying I need to put on more weight and then come back.
Third one is also true, I have two brothers.
Madhuri, you have posted pictures of you with your brothers, so that was an obvious truth.
Two truths and a lie...or are they?
1. I've shot a bow before.
2. I'm ambidextrous.
3. Exactly one of the above is true.
Let's play a game, shall we...?
I'm going to go with number 3, that seems like the easy guess. ;)
I guess I agree with Pensive too.
As for the enigmatic Robin,
1. I do know that Robin hasn't done as much archery as he wants. Even I have shot a bow.
2. According to these definitions of ambidextrous, Robin certainly fits those requirements.
3. Although this seems obvious, seeing as the above appear to be true, I shall choose the path not taken, and say #1 is a lie.
I'll say two more guesses before I reveal the answer...
Logic would dictate that if this is really two truths and a lie, number three would have to be a lie. But Robin is tricky, and I suspect he has turned this into two lies and one truth. He has no doubt shot a bow at some point in his life as do most young men who take Robin Hood for a hero. The other two are lies. Quoth the Dragon.
Does logic truly dictate so, Pen? ;)
If the first be true and the second false, the third is true as well. And if I'm as tricky as you say, that would make the second true, in a sense. But that would make the third false, unless the first was false...
Round and round the reasoning goes...what it concludes, only Robin knows.
Two truths and a lie...or are they?
1. I've shot a bow before.
2. I'm ambidextrous.
3. Exactly one of the above is true.
Yes, but if there has to be one false the third one if it is true will make two false. The second one being true does not have any effect on the first one's truthfulness. Or vise-versa. Now I see what you mean. Logic dictates a different line of reasoning. Number 2 is the one that can be removed with out harming the equation. So number 2 is false. :p
No reply. Hummmmmm.
OK. Two truths and a lie.
1.) I am a freak about edged weapons and own well over 100 knives, swords, or other bladed weapons.
2.) I recently acquired two books originally published as Pulp Magazines in 1937, about a hero called Captain Future.
3.) As you know, I write about The Shadow. I have the entire Shadow Collection from the pulp magazines. Of the more than 350 novels, I desktop published 200+ with the original magazine covers, and have them bound in report folders.
Who knows what lurks in the heart of Pen? Does even The Shadow know?
Oh! My brother and I loved The Shadow when we were kids! Although I don't think we ever read it, we listened to it...does that make any sense or is my memory playing tricks with me?
This is a tough one, Pen, I can see all of them being true...
I'm going to go with number one, I don't doubt you have an interest in blades but I'm thinking, perhaps, the number of blades you own is incorrect.
The answer:
Depending on your definition of "ambidextrous," the correct choice for mine could be either 2 or 3. If by "ambidextrous" you mean "equally skilled with either hand" (my original definition), then 2 is false (I have a definite favored hand). If by "ambidextrous" you mean "cunning and deceitful," then 2 becomes true, rendering 3 false.
Now, for Pendragon...I'm thinking 2 is false, if only on the suspicion that Captain Future is not the name of the hero in question.
I'll go with No 1.
Second can be a lie?
I'm going with No. 1 being the lie.
And an elf should learn to trust what her heart tells her must be correct. There was no lie. All three of these statements are true. The only lie was in saying the words "2 truths and a lie." I have blades from all over the world, many of which are legal to own as a collector, but display only. I cannot carry them on my person. Captain Future was indeed a pulp hero from 1937. Before Conde Nast closed the sites that had the magazines for download, I downloaded and desktop published 200+ Shadow Mysteries. Now, Conde Nast is reprinting the series. Gotcha! ;) :)
ok,guess my lie!
1. When I graduated highschool I was one of the top three on my city.
2.when I graduated college I was chosen Miss stylish by my mates.
3.I'm allergic to dogs!
Hm, I'd say the second one's not true...maybe.
so Themy thinks it's the 2nd...let's take more few guesses...:)
Hmm...I say the third. It seems so arbitrary compared to the other two, and I want so dearly to think as well of Tender as possible...
Maybe the 1st one, it could be that you were the topper, or among top five, or top ten.
I'm gonna go with Maddie. The first one, although I should point out to her that if you were the Topper, the statement is still true, and if you were in the top five or ten, it COULD still be true.
The third, we would guess.
Perhaps, the second one.
I think the first, but remember that there could of only been two tops chosen, or four chosed, so it could be a twisted truth, like the rest, for she could be allergic to cats, or have been voted Miss Fashionable.
all right>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the lie is the third one:D so pravooooooooo to Robin and Taliesian...it was clear, wan't it?especially with the reasons Robin gave. I wrote two truths and stopped looking for a lie and it came to be the third statement which does not rhyme with the 2 first ones at all:D:D
who would take the turn?
Taliesin can have it -- I've had my turn.
Why, thank you.
Now lessee...
1)There is an animal skull attached to the handle bar of our bicycle.
2)When we were about six years old, we had quite a number of imaginary cat friends.
3)We have been kidnapped once when we were very small.
I do hope, for the quiet sleep of all animal protectors in your town who would probably launch furious campaigns, that the first one is a lie. But then again, it sounds too peculiar to be made up. Plus, it needn't be a real one :p
The second one doesn't seem suspicious to me at all (mine were birds ;) ). I'm not so sure about the third one, it surely isn't a common occurrence...however, it's the less specified one ("very small").
In conclusion :D, I take the third one to be a lie.
