I've had an account for a while just to read what selected people say, but I think it does add a little more of a sense of connectivity. I did the first tweet this morning on the bus to one of Scher's tweets. Good fun really.

That's the whole point in my opinion. Just a quick way of sending/receiving reminders and keeping in touch with like-minded people.
