That was a good story with a sad ending. I like the idea of an advanced watch such as described here. In reality such a watch would need some sort of supercomputer chip to be able to sense a three dimensional area around the wearer and make calculations with such accuracy. I wasn't all too thrilled with the sad ending but the story was well written and entertained the imagination.
It also inspired an idea that in a kingdom you could give similar watches to public figures who would then experience a similar auto-regulation of the remainder of their time alive. Say, if they were to do something that was bad for the public image of the kingdom their time would automatically shorten. Say, they do something invaluable and of great worth and usefulness for the kingdom their time would automatically lengthen. I would entertain the idea of a secret science ring in the power elite who hold secret methods to extending lifespans two and three fold who could reward the normal man with godlike longevity for their invaluable deeds. I don't know. A story idea I got, thanks to reading this.
Good story. Thanks.
