Before I read this, it never ever occured to me that the fear of dying (if I indeed fear it, I never much think about it) might be lessened in any way by killing another human being. Every bone in my body says me such can never be true.
I can imagine, that for some twisted mind it might be satisfactory to see somebody else die. To feel like s/he has the control over death by killing somebody. And thus, by murdering someone think s/he can warn of death when it will come knocking at his/her door.
Actually, I think that me killing somebody would make me more fearful, as I would imagine that act would make it more real that somebody else might kill me. And not even from the idea "An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth", but more from the feeling that seeing dead would rise a fear in me "Out of sight, Out of mind".
