Your're talking a universe there...19th century British literature consist of many giants authors/poets....Maybe about the Victorian society and its description in literature..

In doing research paper you should know how to study in-depth of a subject. But without any knowledge on the topic i think your problem will where to start so i suggest to start with the basic such as your comment with the British Literature, your idea until you insert the topic of the person which is the main subject of your research paper and there start with his biography, what he have done and so on. And then your conclusion. Plan this ahead of time so before your write your research paper you already have your guide and you will not have a big problem later on.
