Earthquake Felt Across Parts of England

Heh lucky you. But after a while you get used to earthquakes. Now when i feel an earthquake i don't even get out of my bed ;)
During my lifetime we had two huge earthquakes, but still nothing compared to the 53' earthquake. My mom was only 3 years old but still remembers. The epicentre was the island of Kefalonia (in the ionian sea) and the entire island (i mean the buildings) were destroyed ;) . hoppefully it took place during the morning and most people were outdoors so there were very few victims ;)

Na! You wouldnt really notice most of these things anyway becca. It rains all the time in Ireland and people still come here!

Becca don't worry, the weather, on the whole, is fairly stable (rain, rain, clouds, rain, more clouds...you get the picture) and it's pretty much the only thing us Brits talk about on a regular basis.

That's true. Complaining is the best thing we do; we complain when it rains, when it's cold, when it's hot, when it's icey... It never stops :lol: We'd probablly complain that there was nothing to complain about.

The only big one I've been in was in...hmm...memory gap...1999? Anyway, in Athens, 5.7, on the 5th floor. I think I screamed when my bookcase collapsed! But yeah, after that one, I got used to the smaller ones.

Yep that one and the other at Aegio (which was a few years before). Don't you remember, when Ricomex collapsed and there were many people dead?

There was one in glasgow around 30yrs ago, small, pretty much insignificant. got a hurricane once in the 70's as well apparently. These things just happen once in a while.

bah, nonsense, it does not rain in England ever. there's a lot of drizzle, but you don't get proper rain very often, maybe 2 or 3 times a year.

he he he, tell that to the flood victims over the past 2-3 years! Where were you thinking of moving to when you move to UK? Wasn't it Shrewsbury...ooh, right in a high flood risk area : http://maps.environment-agency.gov.u...,%20Shropshire

hehe, yeah, but floods are exceptions :)
maybe the year I lived in Cov was the only year it didn't rain properly :) it must have been because of my sunny attitude :D or maybe I scared the rain away :p

Perhaps you should move here. Since you've been gone we've had earthquakes and gales (last night I thought the roof was going to come off!). Floods will come around June/July just in time for summer...oh, I forgot we don't have summer just rain, clouds, rain, wind 24/7 ;)
