And people in the UK sometimes refer to females as `birds' of course in a complimentary fashion :p
I made a website named my sexy robotics one time.
i have a tendency to refer to women as chicks on occasion. but to me a chick is a specific type of female. as was mentioned earlier (in this thread or another, i dont remember) there are women who are obsessed with makeup and shopping and really girly girl activities...they are chicks to me. something nice to look at, but with little substance. (and yes women look at women too)
I always think women who smack their gum as "chicks"
How come there really aren't that many names for guys?
well, the most common one where i live is not flattering and sounds alot like chicks.....
but you are right, i think. there are way less nickname-type handles for men....
hmmmmm...
perhaps we should make some up, in the name of equality for the sexes.
...and i thought 'chick' just meant girl...
Okay, this is a thread on random thoughts, not the slang chicks. Move on!!
I just realized that i never noticed the taste of my own gums....
I greet the women I know, "hey chick", but I only hang out with 'cool chicks', not the catty, vile or vicious kind.
I can think of several names to call men, but they wouldn't be allowed here. Anyway, I adore men and wouldn't call them any bad names.
shhh...lara...didnt you hear? we are not allowed to discuss slang chicks on this thread. it is ONLY for random thoughts. the forum police will force us back on track....
however, a new thread on slang language?? another great idea!
i was expecting a host of people to say wow at my incredible revelation.
i might have, had i understood why and how you were doing such a thing. but confusion leaves me feeling stupid and so i just pretended that you didnt post.
now, i must say "wow", just to appease the bellwether of self tasting.
(also, that is "wow", in the most respectful of manners, i havent forgotten what happens when one says "wow" around here...)
... what happens when one says wow around here?

there was a time when a new member came online and asked a bunch of questions that were fairly difficult to understand and non-specific (if i remember correctly) and Kik's only reply was "wow". his post was deleted by a mod and there was a brief but very warm battle over censorship in the forum. i was mostly just kidding, but i am always more careful what i reply with since that.
so... it was deleted because it was mean or because the guy thought it was a post for the sake of his post count
