*suddenly very, very depressed that it is almost summer* :p
Hey Faye, wanna switch hemispheres for the season?
I will gladly switch with you, or anyone for that matter just so I am not stuck here for four months in the states, with uncolourful money.
If only uncolorful money was our most displeasing characteristic. What color is your money? I don't know, I can't get used to foreign bills. I know it's money, I also know it's the most common look for money, but it still looks kind of like Monopoly money to me. I miss the old bills. The new ones are so boring. I liked all the leaves and curly-magigs.
I like the English pound notes. Each one is a different colour. I also like to say colour instead of color. :D. I like England. :p
Yaaay one point to the OU spelling!!! My crusade in favOUr of British English goes on... :D:D:D
Hey hands off! I'm in first line for the hemispheres exchange, as my hate for summer is ancestral!!!
*wonders if she's making sense, and wonders why she's posting crap when she doesnt want to get to 1000 soon...but there's some force that makes me post...and post...and post....*
LoL Koa! *resists the urge to post a response* *fails miserably*
I'm in favOr of RE instead of ER spellings, but I think U should keep it's butt out of it. :D Sometimes when I write in cursive or lower case (I'm an all-caps printer), I add an E to the end of words that shouldn't have one, just to make them soft and comfy looking.
that's so funny, i've noticed lately i've been unconsciously adding "e's" to words as well, like downe comforter, and towne hall. then my boyfriend e-mailed me and he spelled downe the same way! :D lol.
how's about yoghurt vs. yogurt? ;)
Yoghurt, all the way. Even though I think it's incorrect. It has that soft round look to it. :D Isn't there a Monty Python sketch like that? Like... something about the upper class playing crochet and debating which words were nice and which were "tinny." The sad thing is, I totally know what they mean. I'll have to hit google and find a transcript of the episode -- there are ppl who spend all their time transcribing Python for the net. I wonder if there's any money in that?
[EDIT] I remembered it, it took hours but I remembered how to spell "croquet." LMAO Crochet doesn't sound like such a fun sport, although I'm sure there are some grannies who disagree with me. :D
i love that you guys feel that way about the language...i personally love modifying it in my own way to suit my needs. as i have mentioned on another thread, i love the "ish" and "y" endings...like pretty-ish and thing-y.
i also seem to have an irresistable urge to constantly use elipses incorrectly...i just cant help myself.
I invent words because language lacks what could be more easily expressed by sound or facial expression. Plus, nobody ever gets me anyway.
I'm learning that this love of words and making them up is what inspired Tolkein. He was really good with them!
Hey people, back to original topic, HEY KOA, congrats :p:D
Yes. Congrats. If you looked at board right you would see I am on my way there right now, the 1000 mark. My post count is at 36 or so, but Ive been on the site for 36 hours. Wait, I just said that.
