I am interested in the fact you have read all of LMM Selected Journals, I started the first one and it didn't draw me in at all, so I read until a certain year and put it aside until the urge struck me to pick it back up.

As for PEI, it's a beautiful province, you really should visit it should you have the chance. With my location in Canada, I have grown up with LMM, and I adored going to the house. I was young when I went though, and had just barely reached the age to be able to read her works. It would be several years later before I read them all, so I would like to go again with a more aged and educated mind. :p

Kiwi Shelf: Too bad u didnt like The Selected JOurnals. I found them very ineresting, but I can understand that some people concider them boring. There is some stuf that is pretty irrelevant to people who didnt know her, like always with peoples personel journals. Nice u finsished anyway. Did u get to read part 4 too? Cos I didnt.

I only read the first one, I am wondering if maybe the second and third ones are more interesting?

Just finished 'Emily's Quest' by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

I loved it, I loved it almost as much as Anne of Green Gables and Rilla of Ingleside.

And In the process of reading it, I fell in love with Emily.

I haven't read the Emily books yet, but I hope to at some point and time

Kiwi Shelf: I dont know about the later volums of the journals being more ineresting than the first. It depends on what youre inerested in. The first one was from here younger years. Im not sure which i thought the most ineresting. Maybe the first one. I think it was there the most things happend. But Im not sure where the second volume starts. Her getting married maybe? She gets kinda bitter in her older yeras. But I think it very inersting to read about what made her write her books...

Well anyway. Earlier I was saying here that I wanted to see the Green Gables tv-series nad complained they werent shown in here in Finland. And guess what they started sending here a couple of weeks ago!!!??? Anne of Green Gables! In lucky! I must say I really love the series. Megan Follows is great as Anne. The serie are so beautiful and funny. I really do love em. Are the series really filmed on PEI??

I haven't seen any of the movies. I've read about them, though. A lot of people were indeed upset over the third movie moving in an entirely different direction. In the movie they basically skip most of the book story and fast forward to World War I. I believe Anne moves to New York and Gilbert ships out for war. Somehow during the course of the story, Anne sets out to find Gilbert. It seems pretty obvious to me that Sulliven-entertainment ment the series to end with this one.

There was a lot of resentment. But some people disregarded the huge story leap and realized that Anne is still the same, imaginative, free-spirited and lovable Anne she is in LMM's books. With that in mind, I will happily watch it, if ever given the chance.

I think that the third movie is quite good, but it really doesn't follow the novels at all. That slightly disappointed me at the time, but I enjoyed the move anyways.

Too bad I havent even seem any of the movies, just the tv-series, but then again, they are good enough.

The 1st time i ever heard of Anne i was eight years old; I saw the cartoon series on tv and since then she's been my heroine. I only found out about the books recently.
Has i got older i came to realize that the majotity of the great stories that we see on tv or at the cinema are based on books: the three Musqueteres; Tom Sawyer; Huckleberry Finn; etc. So, such a beautiful storie like Anne´s had to be taken of a book too . However, no one i knew who remembered the cartoon series, knew who was the author of the book.
I finally found it out on the internet and managed to read the 1st three books and the 5th book of "The Anne Series" on the net... But i can´t find any of LMM's books in any Bookstores or libraries in my country and that's very frustrating, especially because i'm such a great fan of the determinated, strong-willed, red-headed little orphan girl who couldn't help being loved.
Can any of you help me, i'm desperated! I would love to read the other books of "The Anne Series" and all the other works of LMM's i can put my hands on. Does any one knows of any bookstores were i can buy new, unabrideged, LMM's books? I would be very thankful if you could help me.

Thank you for your sugestion Kiwi Shelf. I've been struggling with that possibility but the idea isn't very appealing to me because i can't see the books before i buy them and be sure that they have the qualities i'm looking for: new, not used, and unabridged being the most important ones. I have to confess, i'm a little bit picky when it comes to the books i buy.
I've been looking at Amazon's and Ebay's sites but i can't find anywhere there where i can specify exactly what i wish for, and i'm not in for a dissapointment. There's nothing like entering a bookstore and check out the books yourself.
The prospect that i'll never find and get to read those books is starting to make me feel very sad because i've been looking for them for a long time and i just love Anne, she's been an inspiration for me since i was eight.

You can download all the Anne books and most of LMM's other stuff by internet. [As you have allready done with a few]

Amazon has good quality, I must add. That's where all my books come from.
